Chapter 26

“I lied earlier so I apologise but now I can do it properly. I would repeat everything I said earlier today but you know it’s already true. I was over the moon when you kissed me and said ‘You just kissed the future Mrs. Franceschi’. I really can’t explain how lucky I felt when you said that, I was going to marry the most perfect female alive. I’ll always owe you for saying yes but I can start with this…” By this time, Josh was on one knee again and pulling out a small square box. Oh my God! The ring! So that was his little lie… He opened the box to reveal the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. It had a silver band with 6 mini diamonds, 2 larger black diamonds and one main large diamond in the middle. It was breath taking.

“Josh it’s beautiful!” I said wiping a single tear away. He slipped the ring onto my finger before I pulled him into a hug and a kiss.

“Now let’s all toast to the most perfect lady here, my fiancée; Lucie Green!”

“To Lucie Green!” Everyone person in the restaurant stood up and shouted in unison.

“Also to the most perfect male here, Josh Franceschi!” I said smiling at Josh.

“To Josh Franceschi. The happy couple!” Aww, stop it you guys, you’re making me blush. We sat down again and everyone wiped a tear away on our table.

“When did you pick it and how did you know I’d like it?” I asked Josh.

“Well, I picked it but changed the colour of the 2 diamonds to suit you and then got Lis to collect it. That’s why I wasn’t with you when you were upstairs with your dad.” Ohh. I lent over and kissed his cheek.

“Thank you everyone! Especially you Josh.”

“Why me?”

“For making me the luckiest female alive!” I wiped a tear of his cheek with my thumb. He turned his head slightly to kiss the palm of my hand. We finished off our drinks and went started to make our way towards the till.

“How much is the bill for table 26 please?” Alex said. Ooh, my lucky number.

“Table 26? Oh that’s on the house.” The lady said. WHAT? We all looked at her in shock. “That’s correct. Lucie and Josh certainly touched each one of our hearts and made us realise how precious life is, so thank you for that you two.” Aww.

We made our way back to the cars and were home by 11. We were lucky take Alex, presumably, thought ahead and order all of us taxes back. I assume the cars will be picked up tomorrow, I guess. It’s been such a long day, but by far the best day of my life. So far, anyway. I still can’t get over how beautiful the ring is! Josh really does know me inside out.

“Enjoy the night?” Josh smirked as we laid in bed and both staring at the ring. I got changed into one of Josh’s shirts and a pair of red silk shorts while he was modeling just the boxers.

“Do you really need to ask silly?” I raised my eyebrows up at him, earning me a giggle. He pulled me onto of him so I was straddling my boy. Cheeky. I guess a repeat of the other night is about to happen…
