"So, it's three in the morning, and as you can see I'm making tea. I can't sleep." Louis sighed and poured hot water into a cup.
He picked up a tea bag and put it in the cup before he took a seat by the kitchen table. He ran a hand through his already messy hair and sighed again. Deeper this time. The cameraman zoomed in on him. He looked tired.
"Last month was incredible. Experience the premiere of Dunkirk with Harry was so special. I also had a lot of promo going on, and that will continue through August. The downside of us being busy with our careers is that we have to spend time apart. July was a bit tough in that department but August will be even worse and I can't really sleep without Harry by my side."He sipped his tea and stared out the window for a moment.
"I mean, look at me." He snorted. "Three days away from Harry and I'm a walking ghost, you know what I mean?"He rubbed a hand on his neck and slouched. "We will spend twelve days apart. I'm in the States doing promo and Harry is doing his thing in London. Nine more days before I can hug him. Sometimes I wish that we just had normal jobs, normal jobs, you know what I mean? Nine to five, Monday to Friday. That sort of stuff. But then I see Harry up on the big screen or hear one of his songs and I know that's his calling in life. I can't be selfish and keep him all to myself. He wouldn't be happy. And I love music too, love it. He wouldn't want me to give it all up for him. He wouldn't let me, and I want that too, you know? But I miss him."
He looked down at the bracelet that Harry had bought him last year and smiled as he touched it. He flinched when he could feel Harry touch his bracelet as well, letting him know that he was thinking of him.
"Aaaw, he misses me too. That's comforting. Amazing invention this is, I tell you."His phone rang and he broke out in a happy smile and hurried to answer it, putting it on speaker.
"Hi, baby.""What are you doing awake at this hour?" Harry asked.
"I can't sleep without you." Louis sighed.
"Same. How about you lay down in bed and I can talk you to sleep?" Harry offered.
"Yeah?" Louis said and got up. He brought his tea mug to the sink and put it down before he headed to the bedroom. He turned around and looked into the camera. "I'll see you all tomorrow." He closed the door behind him.
Back in London Harry hung up the phone.
"He's finally asleep. I worry about him and he's not the only one who hates being apart. It's like a piece of me is missing. But, I don't know, this is the price we have to pay to be able to have the job we have and we're both fortunate to be able to do what we love. I feel like this is the time in our lives when we have to pursue our dreams and still try to make our relationship work because I don't even want to imagine my life without Louis. He's everything. But I also love to sing and in a couple of years, when we're ready, we'll have a whole bunch of kids, because that's something we both really want and dream about as well and then I will take a step back so I can be a present parent, you know? So this, right now, is really the time to do all the things I want to do before a new period in our lives starts. I also want Louis to be able to do everything he wants before that because I don't want there to be any bitterness or regrets between us. It's rough though. I want to have it all. I want to be with the person I love while I'm doing the things I love. There have to be sacrifices but I'm gonna make sure that Louis won't feel like I'm sacrificing him. At the end of the day, love is all that matters."He got up and got ready for a meeting, planning his upcoming tour. In the days that followed, they were both busy but they tried to find time to call each other despite the time difference. Either of them got much sleep. After spending twelve excruciating long days apart Harry finally had some time off and he jumped on the first plane to L.A. Louis picked him up at the airport and they both started running toward each other as soon as they saw one another. Harry jumped and wrapped his legs around Louis' waist and hugged him tightly.
"Hi, baby. I've missed you so much." Louis said emotionally."I've missed you too." Harry said and crashed their lips together.
People around them started to clap their hands and cheer. They broke loose and looked around, both giggling from embarrassment. Harry got down and they picked up his luggage before Louis drove them back to their house and they told the film crew to get something to eat while they had some alone time.
The next day Louis and Bebe performed at the Teen Choice Award. Harry went with them, accompanied by the film crew. They were both happy to see Bebe again. Harry watched the soundcheck with a proud smile.
"Just look at him. He belongs on that stage as much as I do if not even more. His voice is so special. He sounds like an angel."Their performance was a success and Harry, who sat in the audience stood up as he cheered. They went to the afterparty together.
Louis had a couple of more days of promo but at least they could spend their evenings together. When he had a couple of days off Harry surprised him with a luxury cruise on the Caribbean before he had to return to London again.
When August was almost over they got to spend some time together again.
"We're just glad that we made it through this month. We had to spend too much time apart." Louis said.
