"I'm so fucking nervous." Louis admitted and took a deep, shaky breath.

"You're gonna be amazing! You'll see!" Harry tried to comfort him.

They parked outside the X-factor house and headed inside with their camera crew close behind.

They headed backstage and someone jumped them.
"Guys!"

"Niall!" Louis grinned and hugged him tightly.

Liam was next in line.
"Hi mate, what are you doing here?"

"Do you think we would miss your first solo performance?" Liam wondered with a big smile.

Harry's and Louis' families were also there and they made the round and hugged them all.
"You're gonna be great out there." Jay smiled.

"Thanks, mum." Louis beamed. He felt much calmer now when everyone showed up to support him.

Steve Aoki walked in and looked a little intimidated. Louis immediately went to hug him and introduced him to everyone.

An hour later he and Steve went up on stage and he could see all his loved ones in the front room rooting for him. He knew this, he could do this by himself. He had probably been the one who had doubted himself the most. He performed his new single and the audience cheered. He couldn't stop smiling. When he was done Simon spoke up.
"Great performance Louis. The roof lifted!"

Afterward, they went out to celebrate. They had rented a restaurant for the occasion and made sure to seat everyone at a table. Jay held a little speech about her son and Harry couldn't stop himself from doing the same. His whole face shone with love and proudness.

Since it was December they had both taken some time off. They decorated their house and went out on shopping sprees to buy gifts for their families. Harry had made a list with everyone and made sure to cross their name out when they had found something for them.
"What do you say about sending our mothers to a luxury spa somewhere together?" He suggested.

"That's a terrific idea!" Louis smiled excitedly.

They found a traveling store that specialized in that field and sat down to talk with one of the employees. They ended up booking a vacation in Estonia for a week.

A couple of days later, Louis took his sisters Lottie and Fizzy with him to help him find presents for Harry. After purchasing yet another item, Louis turned to the camera.
"I'm totally buying his love." He joked.

They both loved Christmas and spoiled each other. Harry went shopping with his sister Gemma to find something for Louis. They met up later that evening all of them and went out for dinner and drinks. The camera crew captured their night out. Harry and Louis both got drunk and spent the night dancing at a club (or more like grinding each other). They made sure that their sisters came home safely and stumbled into bed.

At the crack of dawn on the 24th, Harry snuck out of bed and headed to the kitchen.
"Louis and I have a birthday tradition. We always make each other breakfast in bed and wake each other up by singing. Well, I'm usually already awake, but I pretend to be asleep when Louis celebrates me, but don't tell him that." Harry grinned.

He opened the fridge and took out ingredients to make a cake.
"I always make a cake from scratch while Louis has bought one and tries to hide it behind stuff." He chuckled.

He whipped a batch and made a chocolate cake and put it in the oven. While he waited for it to be ready, he made frosting. An hour later, he had a finished cake with strawberries and put twenty-four candles on top. He made tea and sandwiches and put everything on a tray. He lit the candles before he picked up the tray and made his way to the bedroom, singing happy birthday.

Louis woke up with a smile and sat up in bed. Harry put the tray on his lap before he walked around the bed and sat next to his husband.
"Happy birthday, Boobear!"

"Thanks, love." Louis grinned before he tried to blow out the candles at once, failing. He took another breath of air and blew out the remaining three. Harry clapped his hands.

Louis cut them a slice each and handed Harry a plate. He hummed in appreciation when he tasted the cake.
"You always make the best birthday cakes."

Harry beamed and ate his cake as well. When they had finished, Louis drank his tea but only glanced at the sandwiches. Harry jumped out of bed to get him his presents.
"I wrapped them myself." He grinned.

"You say that every year." Louis laughed with a fond eye roll.

Harry pouted his lower lip, and Louis leaned over and smacked a kiss on his cheek. The cameraman zoomed in on them. They had gotten used to having a camera in their faces once in a while. They didn't film daily, so they had their privacy as well, something they both had been very clear about when they agreed to do the reality show. Even if it only aired once a month, it was widely popular, and they saw it as a chance to connect with their fans on a whole new level.

Louis started to rip off the paper. Harry had bought him some nice vintage clothes from his favourite brands. Then he handed him a small gift box, and the cameraman zoomed in as Louis opened it. He took out two bracelets.
"What's this?"

"It's distance bracelets for couples. If we both wear them and I touch my you can feel it, knowing that I'm thinking of you." Harry explained.

"That's so sweet." Louis smiled and handed one over to Harry and put his on. They tried them out. "It's working!"

They headed to Doncaster later that day, and Louis' family celebrated him as well. They spent the night and celebrated Christmas day in Doncaster before they took the two-hour drive to Holmes Chapel and spent Christmas evening with Harry's family.
