Chapter 3: excuses

"Oh uh I fell onto the floor really hard and I woke up with the bruise."
It wasn't the full truth but it was decent enough.
Just a white lie right?
"I don't believe you. Don't you trust me?" Cat said sounding hurt
"I- uh- of course I trust you. OH, would you look at the time I gotta go see you!" I said quickly before sprinting away.
I looked back and saw cat staring at me and it made me feel guilty. I just don't know what he would do if I casually said that I was hit in the head because a guy talked to me.

-adrien's POV-

I know ladybug was lying when she said she fell.
As soon as I asked why she had a giant bruise she lost her usual happy spark.
I hope m'lady is okay I can't handle her being hurt inside or outside at all.

-time skip to next morning because I'm ✨Lazy✨-

Just like everyday, I woke up at 5 am, showered, got dressed, practiced Chinese and piano, and finally eat breakfast which was some delicious air!
Around 7 my bodyguard came to get me and we headed off to school.
I can't wait to see mari she can always brighten my mood as soon as she smiles.
Today was...different though.
When I went up to mari instead of smiling she looked at me with fear and ran away.
I tried chasing after her but Nino started screaming for me.
Mari didn't show up until 3rd period and when she did she had a giant bandage wrapped on her head.
The entire class looked at her in concern and started asking her all at once what happened.
All she said was that she tripped and Herself. What is with all girls saying they tripped and hurt themselves for excuses?!?
Lila spoke up and said "marinette I think you are lying about your injuries and just want attention! I heard you talking on the phone yesterday to the principal planning this out! We trusted you! why would you lie?"
Then she burst into fake tears.
Everyone started screaming at mari saying that she was a terrible person and that she should die.
Me and Chloe were the only ones not screaming at her.
Even alya was screaming at her! Mari is her best friend!
Alya walked over to mari and smacked her hard right were she has her bandage.
Mari yelled out in pain before falling down and hitting her head.
I have never been so mad!
"STOP LILA HAS NO PROOF AND YOU WERE SO QUICK TO BLAME MARI! YOU ALL ARE TERRIBLE FRIENDS!" I yelled. I picked up mari and started to walk out.
"Dude she lying just to get attention!" Nino yelled at me.
I flipped him off and walked out.
As soon as I reached the nurses office the nurses gasped and immediately took mari.
I waited for her to wake up for 2 hours and when she woke up the nurse said "Thank god your awake! You fainted but this young man brought you here!"
I smiled at mari but instead of being grateful she started panicking!
"NO NO NO NO I GOTTA GO!" She yelled and ran out.
The nurses gave me a shocked look and then said "do you know why she ran away once she saw you?"
"No ma'am, she has been acting odd around me lately." I said.
"Ok then, go back to class you have missed enough schooling." She said sternly.
I got up and went back to class. When I walked in the whole class was giving me dirty looks and whispering to each other. I had to dodge feet trying to trip me as I went to the only empty seat.
For some reason lila was smirking and staring at me, what is she up to?
