The whole room was silent.
"Hey guys, sorry were late" Leah smiled wide as she addressed everyone but somehow only looked at Slaughter
"Yeah our flight was delayed" Ashlee added as she looked around the room to see who was here "Oh, I thought we were gonna be the only girls here T?" She asked Trizla
"Yeah so did I" He laughed, I couldn't figure out why he was laughing cause nothing was funny "More food for the mandem innit"
Slaughter looked like he was about to say something, but Merkz beat him to it. "Have some manners, the food is over there," he said, pointing dismissively towards Leah and her friends. "These two are gang," he said, gesturing to me and Vanessa with a protective edge in his voice.
"Gang? I don't know them from nowhere" Trizla kissed his teeth
"Get to know then innit" Slaughter said in a serious tone
"Anyways" Leah rolled her eyes after looking me up and down "Where's our rooms Trizla?"
"Ah yeah, so about that," Trizla began, scratching his head, "you lot are gonna have to share 'cause there aren't enough rooms for everyone."
"What? I can't share, you said we'd all have our own rooms, what happened to that?" She raised her voice
I could already tell this once peaceful and fun holiday which I thought it could've been, was now going to be a headache
"Yeah but obviously we had company that I wasn't made aware of" He said referring to me and Vanessa
At this point I'd had enough
"If you're gonna address us, address us by names since you've spent your whole day asking for them" I said with attitude laced in my voice
"Fam was I speaking to you?" Trizla kissed his teeth
"I don't give a fuck who you was talking to" I spat as I stepped towards him "I'm talking to you and quite frankly I've had enough of your shit"
"Nah Sydney chill out" Slaughter said as he pulled me back towards him "Trizla mind how you talk to her yeah? First and last time I'm telling you g" He warned him "And if you're staying here" He nodded his head at the four girls "You're sharing a room and if you have a problem with that, the doors behind you I'll even escort you out"
Leah kissed her teeth rolling her eyes
"Is there a problem Leah?" Slaughter raised an eyebrow
"No." She frowned
"Yeah that's what I thought, now I don't want no problems on this holiday" Slaughter addressed everyone in authoritative tone "This is supposed to a nice likkle relaxing vibe so if there's any drama there's gonna be a big problem"
As much as I was vex, I couldn't help but feel turned on by how much power Slaughter held in the room when he spoke. I found myself staring at him, watching the muscles in his jaw flex as his irritation simmered beneath the surface.
"You know what he's right you man" Merkz stood to his feet "Look how the vibes just changed all of a sudden, listen everybody smoke, drink, hold a vibe whatever but none of this conflict though"
"Word" Tekz agreed "But fuckingggg who wants a zoot though?" He said as he held up about 12 pre rolled spliffs
"Yeah let me get one"
