Olivia caught up to me and decided to walk by my side on my way out of class
"Hey, so great work today, huh?"
"Yeah, I can't believe we actually got an A on the project."
"Yeah, I know right. I'm glad I helped, someone needs to be the know-it-all of the group and I'm that girl."
"Yeah, you sure are. Hey, I'm just wondering; how did you make those lasers sting my skin?"
"Sting your skin?
"Yeah, I was in the device, and the lasers felt like they were piercing my skin
"Oh yeah, that. Don't worry about that. We wanted to make the lasers be as bright as possible just to be sure that the class would be able to see them clearly. Sometimes, lasers can leave an after effect and feel like they can sting. You shouldn't worry about it too much."
"Thanks, Olivia."
I took this advice and thought nothing of it until the next week.
One morning, I woke up and did my usual routine. Only this time, a few strange things had happened that it made it seem like an unusual morning. The first thing happened while I was brushing my teeth. I was brushing my teeth like I normally would. Then, I felt something sharp bite my tongue. I figured it must have been an ordinary bite. When I took a closer look, I noticed something very peculiar. The bite didn't look normal at all. The bite on my tongue looked like someone had stabbed a round needle in my mouth. I wondered why it looked that way. When I pulled my bottom lip, my thought was answered. Two of my teeth looked very sharp, almost like fangs. At that moment, I felt confused and shocked. However, I tried not to let this bother me as I got dressed for school. The next thing that happened caught me off guard. I noticed that I my ears didn't feel like they were where they were supposed to be. It was weird. It was like I couldn't feel my ears. I glanced at my mirror only because it was in front of me. When I saw my reflection, I screamed in shock at what I saw. I saw two noticeable wolf ears on my head.
Then, my mom decided to come in.
"Honey! Are you okay? I heard screaming."
I assured her I was fine. After she left my room, I took off the hat I was wearing to cover my ears.
"What am I gonna do?" I said to myself.
This went on for a while until I decided to do something about it.
One day, I was sitting at lunch.
"And then, this guy just comes up and asks me-"
Olivia was in the middle of telling a joke when I decided to leave our table
"Hey Zayne, where are you going?" She asked me
Olivia and the group approached the other table I was sitting at.
"Hey Zayne, we came by because we wanted to know what's going on."
"Yeah, you seem distant lately. Are you ignoring us or something?"
"No, I'm not ignoring you. I can't tell you."
"Come on, Zayne. We're your friends. Of course you can tell us."
"Okay fine, I'll tell you, but you guys have to promise not to tell anyone else."
"Okay, we promise."
"When I stepped into the...."
"The hadron collider?" Cassidy asked
"Yeah, that..it changed me..to this."
Then, I transformed into a werewolf.
