Chapter nineteen

 "Hey guys, I'm sorry for getting mad at you. I'll make a deal; how about we all go out for milkshakes after school? It's on me."

Everyone agreed and we decided to go out to get some milkshakes. At the milkshake bar, my friends spoke up.

"Hey guys, we know that prom is coming up, right?"

"So?"

"So?? Who are you taking?"

Everyone started talking about who they were taking except for me.

"What about you, Zayne? Who are you going out to prom with?"

"No one in particular. It's just gonna be me and Nick."

"Nick? Isn' t that the new kid at school?" Cassidy asked

"Yeah, he is."

"So, are you guys together?"

"What? No, we're just good friends. Where did you get that idea from?"

I was lying in bed later that day with Olivia. That night, I couldn't stop thinking about the way I acted towards Olivia. Olivia tried to comfort me.

"It's okay, Zayne."

"Man, I feel so stupid."

"Why? I already told you it's okay."

"I got so mad that I shouted at you at the park back there. I just hope you didn't take it too personally."

"Zayne, we'll always be friends and that's what matters." She said. I smiled at that. She seemed to always know what to say to make things better.

"And anyway, I thought of a clever plan to get back at Blade."

She whispered in my ear and I thought it was genius.

"Oh, that is good. Man, you are the devious type."

Olivia laughed at that and so did I. I was so lucky to have a friend like her in my life.
