Chapter 14

I ran quickly inside and called for Carson.

"What's going on?"

"Bracken is here"

"What?"

He ran and got a knife with him.

"No don't go outside, he must be planning for something"

I went towards the guards and told them to get rid of Bracken. The guards nodded, got their swords and started fighting him.

"Oh you're a coward then" cried Bracken fighting the guards back.

"You see I came here alone without any guards not like you cowards, hey Carson I thought you were brave but you are as coward as your father" continued Bracken.

Carson tried to move towards him but I stopped him.

"He is only trying to frustrate you so that he could catch you and take you back home" I said gently.

He nodded and closed the door of the house and after a while we opened the window and found Bracken running away.

"Look who's the coward now" yelled Carson.

Ethan soon was back and I came towards him.

"Where were you?" I questioned.

"I had to meet with my soldiers and tell them about something I am planning to do"

I nodded and decided to go upstairs.

"Is everything alright Catharina?"

I turned around and shook my head.

"What is it?"

"Bracken tried to take me back to Robert's castle"

"Bracken?!" yelled Ethan.

I nodded and hugged him. Carson stood there annoyed as if he needed a hug too. I smiled at him, messed his hair up and went straight to my room. A knock soon interrupted my sleep.

"Come in" I cried.

It was Jake and he just leaned his body on the bed beside me.

"What is it?" I questioned.

"I am bored, I want to have a walk with you"

"Please guys I don't want to go back to the castle so can you just bear it here until we are sure that it's safe outside? Then farewell to boredom"

He nodded and huffed.

Uh when will we live happily again?

Ethan soon entered the room and asked if we would like to go out and Jake jumped up and clapped his hands looking overjoyed.

"But it isn't safe outside!"

"Guards would be surrounding us my dear"

I nodded, smiled at myself and went to call Carson but Jake stood in front of me.

"Where are you going?" he questioned.

"To call Carson"

"Does he have to come with us?"

I nodded. Uh I hate this. I soon came out with Carson and we headed to a place where people were gathered all around us we kept marching found more people.

"Where are we?" I questioned.

"I would tell you later" answered Ethan worriedly.

I continued marching and came near Carson and told him to follow me.

"What is it?" he questioned.

"I feel that Ethan is hiding something"

"I do too"

Jake now joined us and looked at us worriedly.

"I saw someone following us" he whispered.

"It's your brain's imagination idiot" replied Carson knocking Jake's head.

I turned my head around and found someone running quickly from one place to another as if he was disappearing and it was clear that he was following us, how could he be that dumb?

"Carson I don't think so" I replied. "I think Jake is right"

Jake gave a cold smile to Carson.

"Who's the idiot now?" he questioned teasing him.

I wasn't afraid much for guards were surrounding us but what was worrying me was that he noticed the guards but he still followed us, I was confused. Can't Robert just leave me alone? Why does he want me back so hard?
