They were seated in the sherrifs office as he explained the situation to them. He handed them files of the previous victims from two years ago. There were almost ten victims. This guy started early and according to his MO he knows his next victim before finishing with his present one. This meant he already had someone else in his sights and they needed to work fast.

"You know a serial killer just doesn't stop killing for two years and then resurface again . Especially not in the same town," Vince said.

"We would like to know of any person who moved away and came back. Someone who got in an accident and has recovered or someone who was in prison and is now free."

"I'll get you all the details. Ken and Danny will help you with everything else you need. Thank you for coming gentlemen." He said dismissively and they got up to leave the office.

"Take us to the crime scene," Gray said as we got into the car. "Yes sir."

"At last I have an interesting case. The last few I've had werent even challenging. I mean the only work I had to do was locate a guy and arrest him," Gray mused.

"You are one to complain. My last job was trying to catch a hacker. A useless nerd with nothing better to do."

"At least yours was a serial job and you didnt know the identity of the perp. So you had some challenge."

"Challenge. I caught the kid in less than twenty four hours. And there wasnt even a fight. Now my body is all riled up with tension. I didnt even have time to go to the gym."

"You think I got a fight. The guy was useless. He couldnt even hold his gun right. It was a waste of time. He was down in less than ten seconds and he was the one pointing a gun at my head."

"I really hope this serial is great in combat or in a gun fight. If he's not I'll be disappointed."

"I doubt he's that great seeing that he goes for women in his kills. Means he cant handle big men. I hope they have a gym somewhere near. If I dont get release I might just punch someone." Vince said looking at Gray pointedly.

"I doubt you could beat me up." He said smuggly. The car stooped at the side of the road and they got out.

"I could really use some sparring. We shuld do it after checking out this place."

They stood just outside the woods. The forestry wasnt that thick and it wouldnt be easy for someone to get lost in there. There wasnt a lot of undergrowth and most trees were tall with small barks.

The two men led us into the woods to a small clearing. "This is where her body was found." Danny pointed to a spot on the ground.

The undergrowth seems to have been crashed down. The woman was being pressed down real hard.

Gray looked aroung and tried to see what happened. He was a profiler after all. It seems the woman was running but he caught up with her. This was a game to him. He let her escape, maybe he parked his car down the road just like they had done. Gave her a headstart and started the chase. Prey.

"Sometimes I really hate serial killers." he grumbled. "Just sometimes?" Ken asked as he and Danny stared at him in disbelief. "When do you even like serial killers?"

"I remember a case I worked on once. The serial killed some real dushbags. Trust me, if he asked me I would have helped mudering some of them. It was a shame I had to kill him." Vince said shaking his head.

"Why did you kill him?" Gray asked interested in the story.

"He wanted to kill my partner. For a minute I was tempted to let him do just that. Ryan was a complete asshole."

"Yes he was. I'm surprised you never killed him yourself. I mean I almost killed him once." Gray offered.

"You almost killed your fellow agent?" Ken asked looking at Gray as if he'd lost his mind.

"Yeah...he was annoying and got in my nerves. So I just threw a knife at him. He was lucky I was drunk that night and I was seeing double. Bill never gave me a partner since then." he shrugged and started walking out of the woods.

"You guys are mental," Danny said as we followed behind.

"Thats what happens when you work with serials." Vince said and hurried to catch up with Gray. He knew the guy had found something and he wanted to know what. Gray was the profiler between them.
