Chapter Fourteen

"What was your relationship with Sara and Jenn?" Gray asked Jimmy the next day. He was still in hospital.

"I dated Sara before I traveled. Jenn asked me out the day before she died."

"What did you tell her?"

"No."

"and why's that?"

He cleared his throat. "it's just that nothing good ever comes from my relationships. Almost all my exes are dead."

"tell me the real reason why you left town."

"someone has it out for me. When I find a nice girl that I really like, they end up dead.
Rach... Danielle... Sam... Kate... Bree."

Why the hell didn't they do this first. These are the names of the murder victims.

"What about Sara?"

He gulped and his eyes shone with tears. "she dumped me. Said she was afraid with how my girlfriends turned out. That's why I moved away."

"so why are you back?"

A smile lit his face. "I found a girl. Proposed and she said yes. She said she wanted to see my hometown. So I said I'll come prepare for her arrival."

"okay, so..." he was interrupted by the ring of a phone. Jimmy mumbled an 'excuse me' and reached for it.

"hey Meg... Yeah... Everything is fine... I'm feeling better... No..." panic was registered all over his face now. "... I'm sure she's okay... Bye." he hung up.

"What's wrong?"Vince asked. "My fiancé boarded a flight to come here yesterday afternoon. She's supposed to be here already."

Gray and Vince jumped up to calm him down when he started hyperventilating. The beeping in the monitors increased and Vince pressed the button to call the nurse.

Two nurses and a doctor rushed in ushering them out of the room.

"so someone is targeting Jimmy's women."

"seems like it." Gray said as they walked out of the hospital. "better head to the airport. The surveillance cameras should show us who took his fiancé."

"I just hope he hasn't killed her yet. " Vince said and Gray nodded in agreement. God the guy's life is messed up. If this one dies I don't think he'll come back up.
