Jimmy dropped to the ground with a bullet wound in his head. Vince stood on the other side of the room gun still raised. But where did the other shot hit.
He felt his shirt sticking to his skin and looked down. Oh! That's not good.
That's when the pain finally hit. Vince rushed and held him before he could hit the ground. He tried to speak but it was too painful. He had been hit. He was getting sloppy in his job.
The others were released as Gus came to help Vince carry his partner out of the cabin. He was thankful when he spotted a truck beside the cabin. They deposited him at the back and he drove out of the woods like a maniac.
*********
Six hours later Vince sat down in a chair beside Gray's hospital bed. He held his partner's hand praying he'd be okay.
Gray woke up to the beeping of monitors. He groaned knowing he's in hospital. He hated hospitals. He opened his eyes to his partner sitting in the chair beside his bed. He smiled.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
He could still feel some pain in his stomach. Thank God that asshole didn't hit anything critical. "I'm fine."
He started struggling with the IV trying to get it off. He had to leave. He despised hospitals. Vince noticed this and moved to stop him. Vince finally won the fight since Gray was weak from medication.
Vince looked up with a smile which dropped as he seemed to notice the proximity between them. Their lips were almost touching. He looked from Gray's brown eyes to his lips.
He couldn't take it anymore. He pressed their lips together. God it felt good. They moved their lips together fighting for dominance. Vince won and Gray opened his mouth letting him in. He used his tongue to explore his partner's mouth.
Gray didn't even know what to think of it. Actually, he couldn't think as Vince kissed him. He kissed back. He grabbed Vince's hair pulling him closer as his hands moved to his waist.
They pulled apart when Vince's phone rang. He cleared his throat to receive it.
"Yes... It's done... He's okay... Right away... Yes..."
He hung up and looked at Gray with eyes filled with regret. He knew what was coming. He had to go. "It's okay."
Vince combed back his hair with his hand. "Okay, bye."
Gray just mumbled a 'mmh' and closed his eyes. When he opened them the other man was already gone. He sighed. He just hoped that wasn't really goodbye.
