I must’ve set my alarm for the wrong time because I was up at 4:30 am. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to sleep, so I took a long shower. When I got out it was almost 5:30. I planned on leaving my house at 5:50 to go pick up Bridget.
After getting dressed, I walked downstairs to get some breakfast. My mom came into the kitchen and sighed when she saw me.
“Mom, it’s only 5 days. It’s not like I’m going to be gone for months on end,” I told her.
“I know, but you’re gonna love it there and want to move there and then I’ll never see you,” she was starting to panic.
I giggled. “Mom, I’m going to move some time. But I have the rest of the school year to make any decisions.”
I grabbed my bags and took them out to my car. It was a 15 minute drive to Bridget’s house and I wanted to be to the airport a little early.
The drive to Bridget’s house was uneventful. There was no good music playing, so I just turned the radio off. I was so tired by the time I got to Bridget’s house, that when I walked in I was like a zombie.
As I walked into her living room, I saw her reading a magazine. “Bridget!! You ready?”
“Yeah,” she said as she quickly hid the magazine. What is she hiding from me?
Bridget and I put her bags in my car and started our drive to the airport. It was a good idea to leave earlier because there was very little traffic.
After I parked, and Bridget and I were walking in, she looked at me and said, “This is really happening.”
I smiled. “This is going to be an amazing trip.”
We started walking towards security. Bridget made it through without a hassle. Me? Well, they decided I needed to have my bag checked.
“Is there anything in here that may have to be confiscated?” the guy asked.
“No, I don’t have any weapons or drugs if that is what you’re asking,” I hissed.
I looked over at Bridget and saw her on the phone. I looked back at the security guy and he handed my bag. I gave him a fake smile and walked back over to my best friend.
“Do I look like a terrorist to you?” I asked.
Bridget laughed. “No you don’t.”
I sighed and we continued on our way to the terminal we were in. As we sat down in the seats, I asked a question that had been bothering me since we left earlier this morning.
“What was the magazine you hid this morning?”
Bridget looked nervous. “I didn’t have a magazine.”
“Yes, you did,” I told her.
Bridget sighed, but grabbed a magazine from her purse. She showed me the cover and I gasped. Logan couldn’t be dating Hunter Hayes? She would tell us if she were. Right?
“Don’t tell Shannon and Kersten. I was going to confront Logan when we got to London,” Bridget said after a moment of awkward silence.
I nodded my head. “Do you think she’s really dating him?”
I hated that I couldn’t even trust Logan about this. I always respected her privacy because of who her dad was, but I had to admit that her keeping this from us hurt just a little bit.
“I don’t think so. She liked Nathan too much. And if she really wanted to, she could meet him.”
I looked back down at the magazine, but when I looked up I saw Kersten and Shannon walking over. “They’re here.”
We both stood up as they came over.
“You were almost late,” I told them.
“We know,” Kersten sighed.
We all boarded the plane and Kersten sat next to me. We were all buzzing with excitement. Logan traveled to London every summer to see her dad. She would be the perfect person to show us around.
“Hey, do you think Logan will give us a tour of Syco Records?” I asked Kersten.
She shrugged. “I’m not sure. Maybe if we ask.”
As Kersten took out her iPod, I grabbed a book I’ve been trying to read for the past few months. I got through half of it before the plane landed in the Heathrow airport. All of us smiled at each other.
Shannon walked away to call Logan and we all looked around in awe. I seriously never thought I would be here. And now I was here. I would definitely have to thank Logan the next time we really got a chance to talk.
Once Shannon came back we all walked over to the baggage claim. As Bridget grabbed her last bag, I turned around just to see Logan hug Shannon.
“Let’s go. My dad has a surprise for us,” Logan said after she hugged all of us.
The drive to Logan’s dad’s house was far from boring. We all sang and danced like complete morons. Did we care? No, not really.
Logan parked the car and we all gaped at the house in front of us. I still can’t get over the fact that Logan’s dad is Simon Cowell. She is one lucky girl.
We all walked into the house and dropped our bags. My eyes got wide and it felt like I couldn’t breathe.
“Logan, are you seeing what I’m seeing?” Shannon asked slowly.
“Hello, we are The Wanted.”
