Chapter 14

Aahi is in the kitchen with Bondita, both are cooking/ learning from Koyli. When TRC said, "bahu yaha aana to." Hearing this Bondita goes away, after a few minutes she comes back and Aahi asks, "kya hua sakhi, kyun bulaya tha?"

Bondita smiling answers, "wo sasur ji aur kaka sasur ji, kam se bhahar ja rahe hai, issliye mujhe bola ke umka khana dabe mein de de."

Hearing this Aahi said, "kitna ajeeb hai na, aaj sab bahar hai, Som, Batuk, baba, kaka aur dada bhi bahar gaye hai." Bondita nodded and said, " sahi kaha, agar aap nahi hoti toh main toh kantal jati!" Aahi just smiled in reply.

After their work in the kitchen was done Aahi asked, "hmm sakhi chalo dance kare?" Bondita looked at her confused and asked, "ye denece kya hota hai?" Aahi smiles and answers, "naach ko angreji mai dance bolte hai. toh kya meri sakhi mere sath naach ne aaye gi?" Bondita nods and they both go to study.

Aahi went towards the music player and put on a good sound they could dance on, the music turned on and both the girls started to jump around and dance. They were smiling and enjoying every moment.

After a few minutes, Anirudh came back from bringing what he wanted and searched for Bondita, but hearing the music he went towards the study and saw that Bondita and Aahi were busy dancing. He smiled and watched them. After a few minutes, Bondita notices Anirudh watching them and smiling and stops dancing and says, "are birristara babu, aap kab aaye? chalye aap bhi aaye hamare saath dence karye." Anirudh laughs at the way she said dance, seeing him still standing there, Bondita goes towards him and holding his hands dragged him towards Aahi.

Aahi who heard her dada has returned stopped dancing and saw what Bondita did. They both came towards Aahi and Bondita says, " sakhi didi chalye denace karte hai." Aahi looked at Anirudh for a few seconds and forced a smile and said, "h- haan haan chalo." Bondita and Anirudh smiled and the three started to dance.

After a few minutes, Bondita stops and says, "sakhi didi, birristara bubu, main toh thak gai." Aahi and Anirudh stop as well. Aahi goes towards the music player and stops the music.

Bondita says, "hum sab thak gaye hai, main na pani leke aati hu." Aahi says, "chalo main bhi aati hu aapke saath." Bondita nods and Aahi was about to go when Anirudh says, "Aahi ruko mujhe tum se baat karni hai. Bondita tum jake hamare liye pani lao gi?"

Bondita replied, "haan kyun nahi." and went to bring water. Bondita thought, 'zaroor pati babu maafi mang na chahete hai, main thodi der se jati hu.'

Anirudh gets the thing he brought and says, "Aahi itne saal maine tumhare sath jo bartav kiya wo maafi ke layak nahi hai, mujhe kisi ke baato main aake tumhare sath ye sab nahi karna chahiye tha, aur tumahre sath dene ki jaga maine sab ulta kiya, main ye nahi samajh paya ki tumne bhi toh maa ko khoya tha. Tumhe kitna dukh hua hoga, aur maine ye realize kiya hai ki tumhare sath aisa bartav karke mujhe zyada dukh hota tha."

Anirudh stopped for a second to compose himself and continued, "mere se galti ho gai Aahi, kya apne bade bhai ko maaf nahi karo gi?" Hearing this Aahi is shocked she stands still, not able to process what Anirudh just said. Anirudh holds his ear with one hand and with the other he offers Aahi her most favorite thing in the whole world, ek badam wala rasgulla. And says, "ab to apne ye buddhu bhai ko maaf karo gi na? Maine bahut der kar di ye baat samajhne main."

Hearing all this Aahi starts to cry loudly, Anirudh went towards her keeping the rasgulla handi aside and hugs her saying, "jitna rona ho ro lo, mujhe pata hai, tumhe bahut dukh pochaya hai humne." Aahi hugs him back and crying says, "aap ab mujhe gussa nahi ho? aap ne mujhe maaf kar diya! aapne itni der kyu kiya, main kitni dukhi thi ke mera sabse acha dost mujhse naraz hai. Aap ki kitni yaad aati thi mujhe."
