The ladies nodded and they all entered the house, seeing that TRC who just entered the living room asked, “ye log kon hai?” Aahi smiled and answered, “ye log gushal khane ki manzuri ke kagzat par dastakhat karne aaye hai, sab mardo ne aapni har manli hai.”
TRC smiled and said, “thik hai, ye aacha hogaya, ab kuch samay ke liye tumhara aur Anirudh ka fitoor toh kam hojaye gaa, jab tak gushal khana ban na jae tab tak kuch dino ki shanti hogi.” Aahi giggled and said, “ye toh sahi kaha aapne, ab main inhe dada ke paas leke jati hu.”
Saying that Aahi guided the ladies to the study room and entering the room she heard Anirudh asking Bondita, “are Bondita woh kal jo log aaye the, woh aaj aaye kya sabut leke?” Bondita was about to answer but Aahi said, “woh log nahi aaye dada, per mahilaye aai hai dastakhat karne gushal khane ki manzuri ke liye.”
Hearing this Anirudh got up excited and said, “are wah! Matab ab gushal khana bane ga aur mahilao ko taklif nahi ho gi. Aaye aap log, bathiye.” The ladies happily nodded and sat on the sofa while Bondita jumped up and down in excitement and said, “pati babu dekho aap apne sapne ke ek aur kadam nazdik aagaye.” Anirudh nodded while getting the papers out of the drawers and said, “tum sahi keh rahi ho Bondita.” and looked at her happily.
Anirudh took the papers to the table and taking a pen he said, “ye lijiye aap log sign kijiye idhar.” All the womens glanced at each other awkwardly and one of them said, “hum dastakhat nahi kare gay, hum angutha lagaye gay.”
Hearing this Anirudh was shocked, but before he could ask questions Aahi diverted the topic and said, “aacha thik hai, main abhi stamp pad lati hu.” Bondita then asked, “aap log kuch le gay?” The ladies nodded a no but Bondita being Bondita told Bihari to bring snacks and drinks, making the ladies happy, they now felt less awkward.
Aahi got the stamp pad and showed the ladies where to put the thumb print, the ladies did it one by one and sat down. One of the ladies asked, “Aahi ji ab aapko haath mai kaisa hai?” Aahi smiled and answered, “ab mai thik hu, itna dard bhi nahi hai.” The ladies smiled hearing the answer and asked, “toh Anirudh ji ab kya hoga, humne ispe hamara angutha toh kar diya.”
Anirudh answered, “ab bas mujhe hamare sarpacnh ke paas jake dikha na hoga, phir kam chalu hojaye ga. Aur mera dost ane wala hai yaha, woh he gushal khana banaye ga.” All the ladies nodded Anirudh was curious about the women’s education, before he could ask anything, Aahi asked, “kon aane wala hai dada?” Anirudh was confused as to why is Aahi asking this even though she knew it but still answered, “mere dost ne architect ki padhai ki hai London se, meri usse is mamle mai baat hui thi toh usne bola woh waise bhi aane wala tha yaha, toh woh project le lega iss ka.”
Aahi nodded and soon the snacks and drinks came, they all chatted a little and the ladies headed home. After the ladies went home Anirudh looked at the document and said, “waise Aahi tum mujhe rok kyu rahi ti woh aurto se saval puch ne ko?” Aahi smiled and answered, “aapko toh aap ke savalo ka uttar mil jata per aurto ko jo sharmindagi mahasoos hoti uska kya?”
Bondita added, “sakhi didi sahi keh rahi hai birristara babu, umke bhavnao ko chot poch ti.” Anirudh nodded and said, “per ye badi azeeb baat hai na, koi bhi mahilao ko padh na aur likh na nahi aata.”
Hearing this Bondita said, “are birristara babu, isme azeeb kya hai? Koi bhi mahila ya ladkio ko padh ne nahi dete, mujhe bhi kaha padh na aur likh na aata hai.” Hearing this Anirudh was shocked, soon his shock turned into anger and he asked, “tumhara matlab kya hai Bondita? Tumne he toh wo chitti likhi thi jisme tumne shadi ki shat rakhi thi, matlab tum mujhse jhoot bol ti aai ho?”
Bondita was startled due to his sudden anger, Anirudh here taking her silence as guilty of crime said, “Bondita aaj tumne mere wishas ko toda hai, tumne mujhse jhoot kyu bola ke tume woh sharte wali chitti bheji ti aapne hone wale pati ke liye? Aur ab chup kyu ho? Kuch bolti kyu nahi?” Asked Anirudh in anger.
Seeing Bondita so scared Aahi came in between and said, “dada shant hojaye phele, Bondita bole gi, per usse aap aisa bartav kar ke dara rahe ho, bhoolo mat woh ek bachi hai! Aur aise usko dhosi kyu maan rahe hai, uski baat toh sun lijiye!” Saying this Aahi patted Bondita’s head and left the study to give them space as she thought that this is something important for them because seeing her brother angry for such a thing was odd. As it’s not the child’s fault that she did not get a chance to get education, there must be a reason.”
Anirudh then looked at Bondita realizing that his anger had scared her, calming down he said, “maaf karna Bondita tumhe dara diya tha na maine.” Bondita smiled a little seeing his anger go and answered, “dara toh diya tha per koi baat nahi, aur maine aapko aisa kabhi nahi bola ki chitti maine likhi hai, maine bheji hai.”
Anirudh asked, “aur isme kya fark hota hai Bondita? Toh fir chitti kisne likhi thi?” Bondita smiled and said, “woh toh maine aapne pathshala jane wale ladke dosto se likh wai thi, aur sirf bheji maine.” Anirudh nodded, understanding the whole situation.
Anirudh then asked, “toh tum padh ne kyu nahi jati?” Bondita answered, “birristara babu, ladkiyo ko padhne nahi diya jata, kyuki sabko lagta hai ladkiyo ko padh ke koi faida nahi hai kyuki waise bhi hume ghar ka he kam sambhal na hai.”
Anirudh was shocked, he thought, how can people/ men think that. Girls like Bondita have such a bright future, women should have a right to be educated as well, now I know what my next step is going to be. Anirudh smiled knowing what he has to do next and asked, “Bondita kya tum padh na chahogi?”
Hearing this Bondita smiled and answered, “agar padh ne ka mauka mile toh zaroor padh na chahegi Bondita.” Anirudh smiled and said, “phir thik hai, main tumhe padhau ga, tum bhi padho gi ab se Bondita.” Hearing this Bondita started to jump and ask, “shotti pati babu? Kya main bhi padhu gi!!!”
Anirudh seeing her excitement smiled heartedly and answered, “haa Bondita tum bhi ab se padho gi!” Hearing the confirmation Bondita happily hugged Anirudh and said, “aap sabse aache pati babu ho!!” Anirudh hugged her back but hearing pati babu made him sad, this word reminds him of the past making him sad.
But he can’t talk with anyone because it was his decision and no one is to be blamed here. Poor Bondita is innocent, but Anirudh’s feelings are justified as well, because no one can accept such a thing soon.
