I can't give credit to what my senses are telling me. My eyes go from Selena to Annabeth and then to Jaxon who's also in shock. Selena was absolutely right when she told us all those things, I mean come on what kind of friends are we that we can't even recognize the one person who has always been there to listen to our problems and give us advice. I recognize that what Selena told us made me open my eyes and made me realize that if I don't do something immediately, I might lose the only lady that actually worries about me because of who I am, not because of my money and popularity. However, I am also aware that this is too much to process, and even more, for Jaxon, he's always been secretly in love with Annabeth and now it looks like he has competition, so we both turn around and walk away. "Do you think Andrey really is interested in Anna?" asks Jaxon. "Why are you even interested in knowing if Andrey is interested in that little geek?" asks Sabrina towards Jaxon with apparent disgust in her face, while appearing out of nowhere along with Amber and Brittany. "Look, I don't know what your problem with Anna is but let me leave this clear to you, I won't tolerate any meaner comments towards her in any way," I say towards her. "Isn't it enough for her to try to take my boyfriend away," "Look last time I checked Jaxon and you weren't something official, and even if that were the case Anna isn't trying to take anything away from you unless your boyfriend's name is Andrey," I say now annoyed with her attitude.
I don't recognize Jaxon anymore. I understand that we are not even close to being the best people, but the least we could do was stand up for Anna. I arrive home and like always I'm by myself with my nana, only she knows the real Aaron, not the egocentric Aaron everyone else knows including my parents. Everyone assumes that because I can have anything I wish for I'm truly satisfied. Everyone sees a happy teen with lots of friends, and money but no one ever sees the little boy who was just a business to his parents, the boy who has always felt lonely, the boy whom nobody really cares about.
The next day I wake up and feel resolved. I'm getting my friend back no matter what it takes. I have thought about my reputation and how to keep a good image of myself my whole life, however, if I need to humiliate myself for Anna to forgive my stupidity I won't even doubt for seconds before doing it and yes that includes asking Selena for advice. "Can we talk for a minute", I say to her before she leaves the classroom along with everyone else. "Look, you and I have absolutely nothing to talk about, so please do me a favor and stand away from the door," she says with that serious expression so characteristic of her. "I know that I am not a saint of your devotion, but I wouldn't be here unless I really needed your help," I say practically begging her. "So that's what this is about, let me guess, you failed a subject, and you need me to fix that mistake, am I wrong?" she says looking bothered by my presence. "Yes actually you are wrong, the reason I need your help is that I would like to apologize to Annabeth," I say sincerely. She looks at me with a raised eyebrow and says "I never thought these words would come out of my mouth towards you but you've surprised me, however, Annabeth has suffered a lot and I won't let you make her suffer newly, in conclusion before I help you it's up to you to demonstrate to me that you really are sorry and that you have learned to value her," she says while looking at me with an intense look on those two drops of honey she has for eyes. The moment seems interrupted by Amber's shriek, "What are you doing talking to this dork?!" she says as if it were the biggest crime ever. Selena looked at me and then at Amber, she rolled her eyes and left. I was about to leave but someone grabbing my arm and digging her nails into my skin stopped me. "Answer my question!" she demands. "Look Amber I don't have to give you an account for everything I do," I say to her, becoming irritated with her possessiveness. "Of course you do, or do I have to remind you that you are my boyfriend," she says while she smiles at me. "Look you and I know that the only reason I'm dating you is because of the popularity we both receive in exchange, nothing else." "How can you possibly say that," she says, acting hurt, "you know how much I love you." "You and I have never experienced love," I say to her while giving her my back and walking away.
