The Coronation

The next day was Ben's coronation. Payton stood outside of the church where the coronation was going to be held, her dad right next to her. She looked down at the dress Evie made her, it was a long light blue dress with flowers on the top and a cute white belt.

"Hey Pay," Carlos said next to her,

"Hey Carlos," she replied back. Over the few weeks she had known the VKs, she and Carlos became really good friends. They hung out after school and worked on homework together a lot. Payton heard cheers and looked up to see Mal and Ben riding up to the front, "Hey look, it's Mal."

Ben and Mal walked up the steps together and they talked to Belle and Adam for a little bit before Ben left Mal to get ready. Payton and her dad took their places near the front by Mal, "Hey," Payton whispered,

"Hi," Mal said nervously, she forced a weak smile.

Suddenly, trumpets blared and Ben started walking down the carpet, when he got close enough he smiled at Mal. Payton thought that the two looked perfect together. What startled Payton was when Ben stopped, right in front of her. "Payton, you are my best friend. I trust you more than anything, so I've given it some thought. Payton, would you like to be my royal advisor?"

Payton was shocked, "You're serious?" Ben nodded, "I mean, yeah! Of course I'll be your advisor," she chuckled.

Ben smiled and held his hand out for her to take which she gladly did. He led her to the front where Fairy Godmother was happily waiting. Payton kneeled, "Do you solemnly swear to help govern the people of Auradon alongside the king, with justice and mercy as long as you shall be appointed?"

Payton looked up, "I do, solemnly swear,"

Fairy Godmother placed her wand on both of Payton's shoulders, "Then it is my honor to bless our new royal advisor to the king," Payton stood and watched as Fairy Godmother placed a beautiful tiara with light green jewels on Payton's head. "Congratulations Payton," she whispered and winked.

"Thank you," Payton stepped back to where her dad was standing and gave him a hug,

"Good job Pay, you are going to be a great advisor to Ben," Peter whispered.

"Thanks dad," she chuckled softly.

When Ben kneeled, Fairy Godmother placed King Adam's crown on his head. "Do you solemnly swear to govern the peoples of Auradon, with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?"

"I do, solemnly swear," Ben answered.

"Then it is my honor, and my joy to bless our new king—" A gasp from everyone was heard as Fairy Godmother's wand was taken from her hands, "Child what are you doing!?"

Jane twirled and struggled to control the wand, sparks were flying everywhere. "If you won't make me beautiful, I'll do it myself!" Everyone started shouting, "Bibbidi bobbidi boo!" Payton's dad shielded her away from the sparks flying around.

"Take cover!"

Mal ran over and tried to grab the wand from Jane, "Be careful Mal!" Belle called out. Finally, Mal took the wand from Jane's hands, Evie, Carlos, and Jay ran up behind her.

Ben inched closer to Mal, "Mal, give me the wand,"

"Stand back!" She shouted,

"It's okay,"

"Ben, I said stand back!"

"Let's go," Carlos urged,

"Revenge time," Jay followed, Payton went to stand next to Ben.

"You really want to do this?" He asked,

"We have no choice Ben! Our parents—"

"Your parents made their choice," Payton stepped forward, "Now make yours,"
