Payton followed Jay and Carlos to the garage where the limo was. Payton stopped before they got into the car. "Pay, what are you doing?" Carlos asked.
"That tunnel leads to Pirates Bay doesn't it?" She asked looking at the tunnel,
Carlos looked at her with wide eyes, "Pay, no! You are not going in there."
Payton looked back and forth between Carlos and the tunnel, her eyes started to glisten. "I have too Carlos. He knows where she is,"
"He is going to kill you, Payton!" Carlos came closer to her. Jay had gotten into the car already.
"I'm willing to pay the price to find her," Payton cried.
"Well I'm not!" Payton froze, "I can't lose you Payton," Carlos said almost desperately.
"You're not gonna lose me Carlos," Payton argued,
"You don't know that!" Carlos yelled, "You don't know what happens on the Isle like I do!"
"I can manage!"
"But what if you can't?" Carlos stepped closer, "Then what happens?"
Payton hesitated, "I don't know."
"That's what I thought," Carlos scoffed,
"You know how hard it is for me?" Payton yelled, "To have the answer to your problem just a grasp away and then it slips through your fingers, just like that," She snapped her fingers. "It's just gone. And you won't ever have a chance like that again." Tears found their way down her face. "It hurts Carlos. I never knew my mom. My dad wouldn't even talk about her. I never knew what she was like, never knew what she looked like, how she laughed. I don't know anything about her," Payton sighed, "And it's all because of Hook."
"I get why you want to go after him Pay, and I'll help you do it someday. But not now. Hook will be expecting you if you go now, we can come back when we know more, I promise," Carlos looked at Payton desperately,
Payton looked back to the tunnel, "Fine. I'm going to scout the ship, see if there are any weak spots. I can blend with the shadows, no one will see me,"
Carlos thought about this carefully, "You promise not to talk to Hook?"
Payton nodded, "I just don't think that smoke bombs will be enough if everything goes south,"
"Stay hidden and don't be caught," Carlos grasped her arms.
Payton gave Carlos a hug, "I will. You worry too much Carlos," she chuckled. Carlos turned and got in the car, Payton watched as they drove away before she turned and made her way through the tunnel.
Payton had spent the next four hours studying the ship, finding areas that she could easily manipulate. She also might've eavesdropped on Ben and Uma's conversation 30 minutes prior, but that doesn't matter. Payton froze when she heard Gil say, "Hey guys, they're here!"
"Welcome!" Harry announced.
"Finally!" Uma laughed.
Payton dropped down next to Mal, "So glad you could join us," she smirked.
"I almost didn't," Payton joked.
Huh, let's get this party started
I swear I'm cold-hearted
There's no negotiation
I'm not here for debatin'
You need some motivation?
