Opening The Barrier

I stood next to my parents and Carlos as we waited for Ben and Mal to arrive. "There they are." Evie smiled.

Everyone smiled and bowed and curtsied for the two as they made their way up to the balcony.

"Lady Mal and I wanna thank you for celebrating our engagement with us today. I couldn't be prouder or happier to call you my Queen." Ben smiled, "So... raise your glasses. To our future Queen of Auradon."

"To our Queen of Auradon!" Everyone toasted.

"Speech, Your Special-ness." Carlos called out.

"Speech, Your Fancy One." Jay smirked. Everyone laughed and Mal looked out at everyone before frowning.

"I can't." She said abruptly. I frowned and looked at Carlos. He had the same expression on his face as I did. "I can't be Queen of Auradon."

"What?" I whispered to myself.

She and Ben exchanged some words before Mal turned back to us.

"We made a decision...to close the barrier forever. And it was my idea. But it's wrong." Mal shook her head. "I've learned...that you can't live in fear... because it doesn't actually protect you from anything. You never know where the bad is gonna come from. And you never know where the heroes are gonna come from either. Without Uma and her pirates, Auradon would be gone." She explained. "And without Hades...my father..." Everyone gasped. Mal looked at Audrey, "...Audrey would be gone. We are all capable of good and bad, no matter which side of the barrier we come from."

I quickly made my way up to join Mal and Ben, "And that's why I can't be Queen of just Auradon. I have to be Queen of the Isle, too." Mal smiled and Ben and I. "And it's time that we take the barrier down forever."

I nodded and smiled.

"We can't do that." Adam frowned.

"It's up to us, Dad." Ben said to him. "I choose to be a King who moves forward. It's time for forgiveness. It's time for new beginnings." Ben said to everyone.

Mal and Ben looked at me. I smiled and looked at everyone, "The barrier will come down!" I exclaimed.

"Yes!" Carlos yelled and everyone laughed.

"Bring it down, Mal." I smiled at her.

She hugged me and waved for our friends to join us.

Carlso ran up and hugged me before giving me a kiss. "I love you Payton Pan." He smiled.

"I love you too Carlos." I smiled.

Fairy Godmother handed Mal her wand. "To make the world a better place..." Mal started.

"We have to do it face to face." We all chanted.

I watched in awe as the bridge formed between us and the Isle and I smiled, resting my head on Carlos' shoulder.

It's time to bring together

Time for a brand new start

We gonna put it in motion
