The following week went by fast. Payton didn't have any more headaches, which was a relief. Ben was spoiling Mal every other day, Evie was getting so many dress orders for cotillion, Payton and Jay pranked a few more people like old times, Carlos and Payton hung out whenever Payton didn't have advisor stuff to do, Mal was getting bugged by Jane so the decorating committee could do everything just right. Payton was stressed with finding her mom and being Ben's advisor, plus adding school on top of that...
Payton sighed at her desk, she looked down at the paperwork she had to sign. She was in her office, "Hey Deborah,"
"Yes, Payton?" The woman's voice rang through the phone,
"Can you call in an order for more blue and gold streamers for cotillion for me?"
"Yes of course," she said happily,
"Thank you!" Payton sang out a sigh of relief. A knock came from the door, "Come in!" Payton called out, not looking up from the paperwork. She heard the door close,
"Hey," Carlos' voice rang out,
Payton looked up, "Hey," she sighed and looked back at her work.
Carlos walked around and massaged her shoulders, "Pay, you've been at this all day now. Take a break,"
Payton shook her head, "I can't, I have to go through the order list for cotillion. The decorating committee needs more streamers, pen toppers, we need more cups and plates for food, the deck needs to be cleaned, we need a dj for the music, fairy lights, and not to mention all this paperwork I need to fill out. I have to go to all of these meetings and take all of Ben's calls and—" Carlos turned Payton's chair around so she was facing him. He knelt down and took her hands in his.
"Payton, listen to yourself. You're stressed, you need a break. You look like you haven't gotten any sleep all week, I haven't seen you at school," Carlos' eyes were full of worry. "Come on, stand up," He pulled her up, her face all pouty. "Come here," he smiled, it wasn't too long before Payton obliged and wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug.
"Thanks Carlos. You always know when I need a hug," Payton smiled.
Suddenly Evie ran in, "Evie, what is it?" Carlos said nervously,
"Mal's gone back to the Isle."
"What?!" Both Payton and Carlos said simultaneously.
"Ben wants to go back and get her,"
"He'll kill himself," Carlos frowned,
"That's why you, me and Jay are going with him," Evie said stubbornly,
"I'm coming too," Payton said aloud, Carlos turned around abruptly.
"No, you are not,"
"Yes I am"
"No! Payton, you know how dangerous the Isle can be?"
One of Payton's eyebrows rose, she crossed her arms, "Carlos you forget that I'm part villain, I'll be fine,"
"I can't let you come, it's too dangerous," Carlos looked at her worriedly.
"Carlos," she placed her hands on his shoulders, "I'll be fine. Plus you said I needed a break,"
Carlos stared into her eyes for a while before sighing, "Fine,"
"Yay!" Payton squealed and jumped. "I have the perfect outfit too!"
They all split to get ready and met back up in the front of the school, they ran to where the limos were, "Jay! Keys, remote," Ben called down, throwing the two objects to Jay,
