It's been a few months since we last spoke and right now we're in Turin for the Champions League final against Lyon.
The girls want revenge on Lyon, and above all they want to remain the queens of Europe.
In the past couple of months we won the League and the Copa De La Reina.
So this trophy will complete the quadruple, the historic quadruple.
This season we went the whole league unbeaten, something that had never been done again.
We're invincible.
On the way to Turin we took it upon ourselves to watch Lyon play and find weaknesses in their play.
Right now is what matters, all season we have been working towards this and now we're here. It all comes down to this..
Today i'm on the bench for Jenni because on the way to the stadium i didn't feel well, but after numerous checks by the doctor i'm still fit enough to make the bench.
The locker room before the game was normal because we're confident. Alexia gave us such an inspiring speech and so did Jonatan. Everyone hugged and the girls started lining up while we, the players on the bench, went outside and sat on the bench.
I sat beside Jana and i'm not going to lie, i'm so nervous.
"Are you confident?"
Jana asked as she sat down beside me."Yeah"
I said back."Nervous?"
She asked."Im so nervous. This is the biggest game of my career so far"
I said as i looked out onto the pitch."You were made for moments like this"
She said as she lay her head on my shoulder.******
Game time. After twenty or so minutes it was very clear that this was going to be a really tight and open game. Both teams were attacking with everything, if you didn't know the occasion you would think it was the 90th minute in a tied game, but it's not.
The passion is showing on the pitch as well. Everyone is fighting for every ball. No one is backing out of challenges.
You could say i'm biased, which i guess i am, but right now i think we want it more and i think that's visible in our play.
Lyon were the first to break the deadlock. Daniëlle Van De Donk scored. In the end it was a pretty easy finish but that goal hurt everyone.
My heart dropped and so did everyone's . The players on the pitch looked around and when they looked over to the bench Jonatan was yelling out instructions. Alexia went and spoke to all of the girls, and when she walked away they all looked ready, more than before.
Despite their efforts we went in 1-0 down at half time.
The half time talk was influential and Alexia was confident because she knew it wasn't over and she made sure everyone knew that too.
The feeling around the room was tense at the start but as everyone got ready to leave the feeling around the group was much more confident.
This confidence was shown on the pitch.
In the 70th minute, 25 minutes after the restart, Alexia scored. 1-1.
As soon as the ball hit the back of the net everyone on the bench jumped up in joy and the players on the pitch were so ready to run and celebrate with Alexia, but Alexia being Alexia ran and grabbed the ball, placing it in the middle of the pitch.
