Sneaky Therapist

"Evan?"

"Scarlett?"

"Hi"

"Hey"

Evan was leaving his appointment while Scarlett was just arriving.

"I'll let Dr. Anne know you are here Scarlett" Mandy said grabbing Scarlett's file.

"Thanks Mandy."

"You go here?" Evan questioned, curiosity and confusion clouded his voice

"Yeah." Scarlett stumbled on her words not wanting to confess her problems. "And you... go here as well?"

"Yeah." Evan said equally as embarrassed

"Scarlett, oh" Anne started when she saw them together. Anne walked up to them. "Evan, this is Scarlett and Scarlett-"

"I know Evan" she said still not breaking eye contact.

"Oh" then fake recollection sunk in "ooh" she said again. "I'll give you two a minute," and Anne awkwardly walked back to her room. She knew what she did was rude and not entirely professional but she couldn't help it. For Scarlett to get better, required her to tell people she cared about her 'flaws'.

"Why... I mean if it's okay to ask." Evan said while running his hand over his bald head.

"She's my drug dealer" Scarlett joked but there was truth in her lie.

"Ha ha" Evan said trying to relax.

"Can I tell you later?"

"Yeah I would like that"

"Great." Scarlett hesitated. If she didn't tell him soon he would always be thinking 'what the hell is wrong with this girl' she had to tell him soon, like today soon. "6 o'clock, my place, I'll cook."

"Sounds perfect." They both stood awkward for a moment as if this new information skewed them apart.

"I'm just gonna" Scarlett pointed behind him towards the door.

"Yeah of course" Evan stepped to the side and held out a hand letting her pass.

"Bye" she said shyly, no longer able to keep his eye.

"See you at 6" Evan said still watching her pass. She turned back to him before going through the door. He stood still watching her and she blushed shaking away her lack of confidence. She closed the door behind her but he stayed staring at the closed door. Something was wrong with his perfect Scarlett and he needed to know what.

"So Evan," Anne said with a smirk.

"Yeah, Evan..." Scarlett froze before sitting and stared at Anne, "you knew didn't you?" Scarlett accused as she plopped down on the couch.

"What?! My dear, Scarlett I had no idea that Evan Brooks was your Evan." Anne couldn't look Scarlett in the eye as she lied, she moved behind her desk and looked under it for anything to keep Scarlett's glare off of her.

"Liar" Scarlett stated and waited for Anne get adjusted. There was a moment of silence, Anne wanted to be the first to speak but knew it had to be Scarlett to engage the conversation. "Did he talk about me?" she asked quietly, Anne opened her mouth to object "and don't give me that, patient confidentially because you didn't care about that when you put us in the same room." Anne's averted her eyes further. "You don't have to tell me what he said, just if he talked about me." Scarlett waited anxiously. She didn't know why she wanted to know, but knowing how much she talked of Evan to Anne, it made her curious if he talked of her as well.
