Scarlett should have been more careful about staying hidden. But a work party and a group picture plastered on the website drove Jack to her right to her. He didn't walk right up to her at work, no he didn't want to scare her away but he did want to see her. She was with her friend the thin one with short hair, Jack watched them move along the sidewalk. He was stalking her slowly waiting for the right moment to strike.
"When can I meet him?" Liz gushed as they walked through Scarlett's cat scratched door.
"He's different from other guys" Scarlett started as she fed Skippy his breakfast.
"Different meaning..."
"Different."
"Well that's useful information, thanks." Liz flopped down on the couch and pulled out her phone. "Evan Brook" she said aloud. "He doesn't have a Facebook, Instagram, twitter, snapchat, he's basically a ghost."
"He is a private person." Scarlett started knowing why he kept off of social media sites.
"Private and non-existent are two different things Scar."
"He is real." Scarlett said as she sat down next to her, "I will see if he wants to meet you"
"If he wants to meet me" Liz looked insulted. "I am great, wonderful, amazing. Besides he doesn't get a choice in the matter. He is meeting me, because I need to meet him."
"Need?"
"Yes NEED Scar. I need to know who has stolen your fragile heart."
"We are just friends."
"Yeah, yeah, so you've said." Liz plopped her phone down and reached for Scarlett's.
Ring, ring.
"What are you doing?"
"Hi Evan"
"Hello?" Evan asked confused looking back at his phone, this was Scarlett's number but this wasn't Scarlett.
"Hi, my name is Liz, I'm Scarlett's friend and I'm sure you have heard all about me..." she waited for praise but Evan stayed quiet. "Anyway, I need to meet you."
"Um"
"Great! So I have work in an hour but I need this meeting to happen today or else I'm not allowing Scarlett to see you again."
"LIZ!" Scarlett yelled trying to get her phone back.
"Hush, this is a conversation for the grown ups" Liz joked as she pushed Scarlett father away. "So, be at Scarlett's place at 4. Be on time and bring me flowers or chocolate or both if you really want to make a good impression."
"Um" Evan said again confused but willing to meet Liz, because not seeing Scarlett was not an option.
"Great, see you then bye." Liz hung up the phone and flipped on the TV. "Why didn't you record The Bachelorette?"
"What were you thinking?"
"That my best friend has stopped watching the best worst reality show ever!""No, with Evan. Why did you do that?"
"Well now I know he's real, but seriously have you stopped watching-"
"Yes I don't watch it anymore, I'm sorry. But Liz..." Scarlett texted Evan as she talked saying sorry and if he didn't want to he didn't have to meet Liz but, within seconds Evan replied saying he would be there. Scarlett let out a breath of fear and relief. "You better not scare him off."
