AS SOON AS Lucy was given a clean bill of health, the couple found themselves heading to Louisiana.
It was warm there, a nice contrast to the chilly days that they were used to in New York. Lucy liked the way the sun felt on her skin and the feeling of the sea breeze blowing through her hair. She made a mental note to visit Sam and Sarah more.
Her curled golden hair was down, despite the warm air that made her want to pin it up. All because it effectively covered the hand-shaped bruising on her neck that Bucky had spent far too much time fussing over during the past few days.
But thanks to the serum, her injuries were already healing. She kept reminding herself that things could have been much worse.
Lucy had Bucky's hand in hers as they walked down the street. The people in Sam's neighborhood were refreshingly friendly, greeting them left and right with smiles just as warm as the sun.
