ROYAL CHRISTMAS AT SANDRINGHAM

The health situation has forced the Royal Family to change their plans as a precaution and to celebrate a much smaller Christmas party for the second year running at Windsor Castle, where the Queen currently has her residence.

Circumstances are different and they have had to adapt to the new requirements, so today the Queen decided not to attend the mass that was to be held at St George's Chapel. Those who did attend were Prince Charles with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall; Prince Edward with the Duchess of Wessex and their children Lady Louise (18) and James, Viscount Severn (14); Prince Andrew and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were seen leaving the service at St Mary Magdalene's Church with their four children Princess Eleanor (13), Prince George (8), Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3). The family of six spent Christmas at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where they were joined by members of the Middleton family, including Carole and Michael Middleton.

For the Royal Family it will be the first Christmas without the Duke of Edinburgh, who died last April at the age of 99, just days before his 100th birthday.
