Footsteps echoed through the empty halls of the huge palace. No one was around as the young Khanzada walked down the corridors all alone which he knew he will get hell for from his father because of those hard times, his uncle had declared war against his father for the Crimean throne much to everyone's horror.

Arslan fixed his Kaftan when he reached the Khan's room, his father's room. As the only male heir, his father had Arslan lived a lavish life which his mother tried very hard to not let get into his head. Sahip Giray Khan looked up when the doors to his personal room opened and his only son and heir stepped into the room and bowed to him.

"My son" The Khan opened his arms and embraced his only living son. Arslan barely reached his father's shoulders much to his dismay wanting to already be grown up and fighting alongside of him.

"Welcome back, Baba" Arslan pulled away from his father and looked up at him. His eyes moved to his mother who stood to the side smiling at him sweetly like she always does. Arslan knew that his mother was a broken woman due to the rules and laws inflicted on then, because of the rules that force his father to lay with other women from his harem, the idea alone impulsed Arslan and he intended to change them if possible.

"Thank you, my Giray eagle" Sahip Giray Khan patted his son's back.

"Now that you're here, I can show you my surprise" Sahip Giray Khan said moving to the side. Arslan moved to stand beside his mother who wrapped an arm around his shoulder protectively.

"Guards!" Sahip Giray called. The doors opened again. Arslan couldn't wait to see what his father had in store for both his mother and himself. A female figure walked into the room with the biggest smile on her face.

"Aybige!" Arslan ran to his favorite sister who giggled as his arms circled around her waist. Aybige kissed the top of his head missing her only brother more than ever.

"Aybige, darling, not that I'm complaining but what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in Istanbul with your fiancé?" Her mother asked also pulling her in for a quick hug. Arslan refused to let his sister go and held her hand as he and his mother waited for an answer.

"The engagement was called off" Sahip Giray Khan answered for his warrior of a daughter. He was proud of her for continuing with her training even after a son was born, she was his favorite daughter and he wasn't ashamed to say that.

"What? But then we lost the Ottoman support! Your brother will be able to attack and kill all of us" Arslan watched as his mother panicked and righted her grip around his shoulders in fear of his demise.

"Not quite" Sahip Giray shook his head. Aybige shifted beside Arslan and looked a little guilty.

"His majesty decided to forgive Aybige's affair for one condition" Sahip Giray explained. Arslan looked at his sister shocked who looked down at the ground ashamed. He never thought she was one for love and affection.

"A new engagement shall be made" Aybige finished for her father. Arslan was thinking through the long list of sisters he had, he was naming the sisters he had close in age to Şehzade Mustafa.

"Arslan and Mihrimah Sultan," Sahip Giray said looking at his son proudly. Arslan's jaw dropped in shock and horror. He turned to look at his mother whose eyes widened in shock.

"Arslan and Mihrimah?" She asked confused. She didn't look as horror-struck as Arslan which annoyed him because he was no princess to be pawned at, he didn't want a part in this game he only wanted to fight along with the soldiers which he was very good at it despite his age.

"Yes, they are engaged to be married when of age" Sahip Giray nodded. Arslan glared at his parents who were discussing his life, the woman with who he was to marry and spend the rest of his life. If he married Mihrimah Sultan then he cannot have a harem which he didn't mind but that also meant he couldn't have a second and a third and a fourth wife, which was his right as a Muslim man, he will be stuck with only her for the rest of his life. What if he doesn't like her? What if she didn't like him? What if they couldn't get along? What if they couldn't conceive? What will happen to the Crimean throne then? Will the Sultan give it to his cousins? Over his dead body will he let his cousins anywhere near his father's and after a long time, his throne.
