-taylors pov-
Then it happens... there is a trinkle of warm liquid leaking into my underwear and I freeze, "joe!" I cry out and he comes running "what's wrong? Are you okay?" he kneels down beside me and I steady by breathing "my water just broke"
His eyes widen "holly shit okay... okay this is happening... let's start to time your contractions and I will call your doctor" he says and kiss my forehead. This is really happening now... after 9 months of having our little girl safe inside of my belly she will come into this world.
Joe goes into the kitchen to call my doctor and another contraction hits me and I start a timer on my phone as I groan in pain. It doesn't take joe long to come back into the room "they said that because of your blood pressure situation they want you to come now. We don't need to speed there but to be safe they want us to go there sooner rather than later. Also because of your security situation" he says.
We have worked out a security plan with the hospital and my doctor. It's tricky because it's a combination of pandemic restrictions and the safety of me, my baby and the other patients. Thankfully nothing about me being pregnant has leaked to the press, which is keeping us safer, but we can never take that for granted. There are always stalkers that try to get to me, and we also need to think about the safety of the other patients and staff.
"Okay. Can you go and get me some new clothing because I'm soaked. And then we should just leave" I say, and he runs up the stairs to get the bag and the outfit I've already prepared to change into just in case my water broke. Not everyone's water breaks actually, a lot of the time the hospital has to break it or it beaks when you are already in the hospital, but mine chose another path, I guess.
Joe comes back downstairs and help me out of my wet clothing and into some dry clothing. As we are on our way out the door another contraction hits me, and I look at my phone to see the time. They're actually around 7 minutes apart. "Taylor, they're getting closer how long have you been feeling these. Why didn't you tell me" Joe says as he helps me into the car.
"i've been having Braxton hicks for days. So, I just assumed that was what they are. I'm not a fucking doctor joe I don't know the difference." I snap at him, this fucking hurts. "And I didn't want to worry you before I had to, because I know how nervous you are"
Joe gets into the driver seat "you should have told me Taylor, not telling me makes me more worried love" he says and take my hand and kiss my knuckles "whatever... it's done with can you just drive now... these fucking hurts" I groan as another one hits.
We get to the hospital and are meet by my doctor's nurse, tina, outside just like we have planned. She is there with a wheelchair for me which I'm thankfully for because my feet are killing me. I do put on a hat to try to hide my face, but the mask also helps. Thankfully the pregnant person doesn't need to wear a mask inside the delivery room but on the way in it's in everyone's best interest.
I get really nervous as we get escorted through the hallways towards the delivery floor with two people from my security behind us. Because of the pandemic they usually wouldn't have been able to come into the building at all, but because of my situation the hospital made the decision that it was in everyone's best interest. I guess for them it's a balancing act of preventing the virus from spreading and also keeping their hospital safe.
It's a relief to get into the room where there is a hospital gown waiting for me. "so Taylor, if you get dressed in that I will be back in a moment to do the intake procedures. Take off everything, including your underwear"
Joe puts down the bag as the nurse close the door and he comes over to me and smile. "Can you help me? I'm pretty useless right now" I say and chuckle as I take off my mask.
