12 Guardians of the Eclipse

Chapter Nine

Next day:

All 12 left the castle at half past 10AM with Adriana who was eating the kimchi with toast on hand.

When they reach the path towards the Wizard's hut they didn't expect the wizard himself standing outside.

"I greet you, her Majesty, Queen Adriana to my humble home"

The wizard bowed. He was a short man with a small beard wearing a light grey outfit.

She nods finishing her food.

"It is nice to meet you. I hope we didn't take too much of your time"

The wizard just smiled and answered

"It is alright Your Majesty. I actually have some free time"

"I see"

"And what would be I honor your presence in my humble home, Your Majesty?"

Adriana looked at Daniel who squeezed her hand gently giving her a nod

"I would like to enquire regarding a dream I had for the past month. I was rather intriguing for me as it kept on reoccurring on most nights that it made me lose sleep"

The wizard just smiled and went to his cauldron.

"Please come forth Your Majesty as I will show you something"

She came forward as the wizard started to get some potions and other ingredients putting it in the cauldron as he stirred and an image appeared.

The image shows her holding a pink bundle. Then another shows her running around, fully injured, and at the end her lying lifeless on someone's lap.

There were 12 all around her but two by her side. At that moment her ring glowed yellow and the next image showed something different. An image of two bundles, one blue one pink. There was an image of two holding the babies.

"'Who are they?"

The wizard looked up with a smile answered "Those are your parents Your Majesty, the late Queen Isabella and her husband King Robert"

Her eyes widen, now shocked. Then she looked at the image again and asks

"But the babies..." her voice trailed off as sudden feeling of sadness overwhelmed her.

"They are twins, Your Majesty. Prince Estelle and Princess Adriana"

The distraught Queen looked up

"What?"

The wizard just smiled. He simply nodded as Adriana looked at Estelle and hugged him.

"Is this true?"

The said man just nodded

"I have know about it since I was young. I was raised by High Minister Rhubarb.  He was the person who told me"

"'But why were we separated?"

The wizard then answered

"Long ago just as a month after the both of you were born there was an attack from the nearby kingdom who wants to gain power by stealing the Eclipse ring"

"Your father, the late King concluded that you must be in a safe place so they made a conclusion to be separated for a little while. High Minister Rhubarb was a great companion to your parents and they regard him as a family"

"So they decided to let Estelle stay here in Chameli while her Majesty goes with them. They were told long ago that the prophecy once predicted that someday the future Queen will change fate of her and her kingdom and restore what's rightfully hers"

All this was mind boggling to Adriana. And she realized

"But if I am an heir is so is Estelle.  She should be the rightful king to sit on the throne and rule Chameli. Why am I the one being put under all the pressure?"

The wizard then sigh and said "Because it is only for the one who possesses the Eclipse. But the prophecy also predicted that the person who has the same blood in their vein as you will be tgh one who protects you"

"I see. Oh gosh. This is too much information for me to process" she started pacing around. All eyes were watching her until...

She collapsed as soon as she sat down on a chair

"My Queen!!!"

"Adriana!!!"

Those were what she heard before everything went dark.

When she woke up she was in bed, Ana by her side checking on her.

The little servant was surprised.

"Your Highness you are awake"

Adriana sat up with help from Ana.

"Ana how long did I stay unconscious?"

"For two days, Your Highness. You collapsed due to fatigue and stress. The physician came by and said to put you under bed rest for a week"

"Oh? Why? It's not like I'm crippled or anything"

"Actually Your Highness it's because..."

There was a knock interrupting what Ana was about to say. Ana quickly opened the door and Daniel came in. He walked towards her and sat by her side.

"Finally you're awake honey. How are you feeling?"

She hugged him and answered

"I'm fine.  Just hungry. Daniel?"

"Yes honey?"

"Is it true that I collapse due to fatigue and stress? And why did the physician ordered me to be on bed rest?"

"Yes honey. You weren't sleeping well. Remember? So the physician came by and told you to rest. He also reveal something as well"

"'What is it?" She was now worried. Was she going to die?

"You are carrying the next heir, honey"

It took her a few moments. Her face expression were mixed from confused, then to realization, then to happiness then fright.

"'Dear..." her eyes full of fear and Daniel knew she was now scared. 

"What do I do? I don't know how to be a mom. I'm scared. What if I accidentally let the baby fall?"

Daniel just put a hand onto hers and said with an assuring smile

"Then we will learn together how to raise them. Do not worry I will not let anything come in harms way to you and our baby"

Adriana heard the word and tears started streaming down from her eyes

"Our baby?"

He nodded and she for the first time smiled.

"Yes honey. Our baby. I promise I will protect you always"

He kissed her softly and she kissed him back. He placed a hand onto her stomach, looking at her

"Our baby"

"Our baby"

They knew this was just the beginning.
