Charlie's POV

"Aw, look at her sleeping, she's so cute!" I heard someone's voice outside my room and they probably weren't alone.

"Shh, don't wake her up, she needs the sleep after what happened today" another voice whispered.

"Well, it's dinner time, so I'm just gonna let her know. If she wants to sleep, I'll let her. She'll probably be pissed if I don't tell her anyway." A third voice whisper/yelled. At this time, I was aware enough that I could tell that this voice belonged to Dad.

Sure enough, I was not surprised when I was shaken and opened my eyes to see Dad staring at me.

"It's dinner time, just letting you know. If you want to keep sleeping, go ahead, nobody's stopping you." He said, kissing me on the forehead. He may be the bassist in a rock band, but he was my father so he was kinda supposed do that kind of thing. Also, it felt nice to have a hug instead of a slap.

"I'll be down in a minute. Oh, and Stevo, stop apologizing. Don't be sorry, be different." I replied and got up to use the bathroom without waiting for a reply. Five minutes later, I came down. They had ordered pizza like every other night that we didn't go out.

I saw that one of the pies was Hawaiian, my favorite. Nobody else liked it, they all thought that the combination of ham and pineapples with the pizza was strange. Whatever. It was better this way. I could eat as much as I wanted and still had a bunch left over for breakfast. The only thing better than pizza is left over pizza. Everyone knew it.

I walked over to the dock and plugged my iPod in, putting my music on shuffle. As Dead Silence by Billy Talent came on, everyone went into a comfortable silence of just eating and enjoying the music. Whenever a Sum 41 song came on, everyone would awkwardly laugh but we all got used to the fact that I was a fan and they were my favorite band.

After dinner, we hung out in the couches in the living room. I then thought of something, the fans had no idea who I was.

"Hey dad, don't you think it would be a good idea to introduce me to the fans? I mean nobody except for people who visited here plus mom knows that I exist." I asked him.

"Yeah sure, we should do a studio update too. Tom, go get the camcorder." Cone told him and everyone started to get ready for the update.

A few minutes later, everyone was ready and the camera was on.

"Hi guys, don't worry, we didn't die. We were just a bit busy and we have a reason why. Cone found his long lost daughter that barely anyone knew existed. Come on out Charlie!" Deryck shouted and Stevo did a drumroll, causing everyone to smirk at him.

"Um, hi. I'm Charlie. Not Charlotte. If you call me that, I may or may not slap you. I play almost every sport possible and play violin and flute and am learning guitar, piano, drums, and bass. Um I like Hawaiian pizza a lot and I also love music. I was in a shitty foster home for almost my whole life because I was put up for adoption for obvious reasons. I ran away and ended up here. That's about it." I said with an awkward wave at the end and sat down on the couch next to Cone and leaned up against him.

"Aw, so cute!" Stevo exclaimed, causing the two of us to flip him off. He just smirked and held up his hands defensively, causing everyone to laugh at him, fully aware that I could kick everyone's asses. I wouldn't unless I really felt like I needed to, which was almost never, I hated violence. Even before the beatings began. I was a very angry person, but I wasn't violent.

"So, we've been working on like songs and stuff and it's going really well. We only have to record two more songs and then we're going on the warped tour! Exciting stuff. Hope you're ready for that and that this video update made up for the ones we've been ignoring. Bye" Cone explained and the video ended. I just leaned into him more.

"Who's day is it today?" I asked. I could never keep track of who's day it was to teach me their instrument.

"Uh, mine" Deryck replied and I went and grabbed one of the guitars not in the studio and he grabbed another and we made our way to a room that we didn't use for anything and plugged in my guitar into the amp that was there. This was basically a practice space, soundproofed and everything. It was great for when you couldn't sleep, which has happened a lot to me. We both warmed up our fingers and got to work. We played for a while and then Deryck asked me what song I wanted to learn.

"Um, Holiday" I replied, not bothering to tell him the artist. I watched as he plugged his phone in and listened, occasionally pausing to write down the tabs and figuring out the part. After that, we played it a few times and our time was up. Each lesson was an hour and I practiced almost every day when they were recording or when I couldn't sleep. It gets pretty boring when you're lonely.

Every evening, we would just talk and listen to music and basically enjoy each other's company. It was fun, especially hearing all their stupid stories over the years. The album was nearly done so we were doing this a lot more and pretty soon it would be Warped Tour. I was so excited for that because my other favorite band, All Time Low, would be on it too. We had about two weeks until it started and management people started coming by more often and rushing the recording process. Everyone thinks it'll be done tomorrow and then it'll be in the record company's hands to get it mixed and stuff. I was so excited, everything that I have heard so far sounded amazing and I could tell that it will be received well by the fans.
