"Shit." I hear Camilo whisper beside me. My hands rub against my stomach, and I feel sick. My head begins to spin and I lose focus on my surroundings. I feel like I'm about to faint when a strong hand squeezes mine. "I just need to grab something from our room!" Camilo blurts out, and pulling me with him, he hurries out of the kitchen. As far as I can tell, the rest of the family seems too focused on the discussion of the surprise announcement to notice us leaving. Camilo guides me into the lounge room, and helps me sit down on the couch.

My heart is racing in my chest, and I hold my head in my hands. "Hey, shh, breath, Y/n, breath," Camilo whispers, rubbing my back. "No! I can't calm down, I can't focus, I feel like I'm suffocating Cami!" I exclaim, throwing my hands in the air. Camilo recoils a little, but remains calm. "It's ok, Y/n... We don't even know if it's you..." He says, reaching his hand and placing it on my arm. "It probably is! And we literally had an argument only a few days ago about if we were even going to consider having kids! And now this- I- I don't know what to do!" My face falls into my hands, and tears stream down my cheeks. "Listen to me, Y/n, I'm right here, you can do this, we can do this!" Camilo pulls my hands gently away from my face. I turn to look at him, and feel embarrassed by my tears. "I'm just so scared," I whisper. He reaches a delicate hand and wipes the tears from my cheeks. "I know, mi vida, I know you didn't know if you wanted this, but it's happening." His voice is soothing, and reassuring. I lean against his shoulder and he wraps an arm around me.

"We're going to be great parents, trust me." He whispers. The sense of impending doom that engulfed me after Abuelas announcement begins to slowly etch away, and I close my eyes, taking deep breaths. "You want to tell the others?" Camilo asks, and I nod. When we re enter the kitchen, Julieta, Pepa and Dolores turn around, and I can see the realization dawn on their faces. Dolores opens her mouth in an excited gasp, and I nod, answering her unspoken question. She beams. "Todos, we have our own announcement to make!" Camilo calls out, getting the attention of the whole table. "The baby is ours." I say immediately, not wasting any time. The faces before me turn into a mix of surprise and joy. "Congratulations!" Isabella exclaims, jumping out of her seat and scooting around the table to hug me. The rest of the family follows her example and soon I'm overwhelmed by hugs and a million congratulations. Pepa causes a light shower as she embraces her son, tears on her face. Mirabel gives me an extra long hug, and jumps around excitedly. Dolores hugs me, and whispers in my ear. "I know this is hard, but you guys are going to do great." Her words mean the world to me, and I let her know that by giving her an extra squeeze.

Eventually everyone has to filter off, to do chores and work, but they each congratulate us one last time before leaving. Soon it's only Camilo and I and after a moment of silence, he wraps his arms around me, and I close my eyes, leaning against his chest. "Thank you," I exhale, and he holds me tightly in his arms, resting his head on mine. "We're in this together, amor, never forget that." I release a long sigh. I need him here with me, always.. I think to myself, breathing in the familiar scent that lingers on Camilo's clothes and body. "This is something to be excited about, amor! It's cliché, but look on the bright side!" He chuckles, planting kisses all over my head and forehead. I look up into his smiling eyes. "You're right, mi vida, this is a blessing in disguise." I sigh, trying to convince myself. A mischievous smirk spreads across his face. "You know you look beautiful right?" He says, causing a smile to crack across my lips. I giggle, resting my forehead against his chest. "Come on mi princesa!" He takes my hand and leads me out of the kitchen.
