MJ must've heard the drop of my phone because she turned around.
"Y/n?" She asked
"Mmhmmm..." I said nervously. My hands were shaking and tears we're falling down my face. I couldn't loose my dad after just getting him back.

She turned the lamp next to her bed and it lit the room with its warm glow.
"Y/n! What's wrong?" MJ asked getting out of her bed alarmed.
"My dad, he got shot...my mum just phoned me...I'm so scared," I told her through sobs.

MJ didn't say anything. Instead she hugged me. I cried into her shoulder still shaking.
"I'm gonna get my parents, stay here," she said and I nodded.

I sat clutching onto the blanket. It was the only thing that could stop me from shaking.

MJ's parents ran into her room. They we're both wearing dressing gowns and slippers.
"Honey, it's ok. Relax," MJ's mum said kneeling next to me. MJ came back to sit by me and hugged me again.

Once I'd finally calmed down, MJ's mum decided that it was a good idea for us to watch a movie or something to relax and try and take my mind off it.

We agreed and sat on MJ's bed. She put a Disney film on and we watched it. I tried my best to not worry but it was too hard. I didn't want to worry MJ though because that would make me more upset.

I hadn't slept the whole night. I got up before MJ and slipped to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and hair and then went back to the room and waited for MJ to wake up.

"Y/n, how long have you been awake?" MJ asked me.
"Not long," I lied.
"That's good," she told me.

We got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast. There were waffles with fruit, syrup and chocolate chips laid out on the table.

After breakfast, I got a phone call from my mum.
"Y/n! Are you ok?" My mum asked.
"Yeah, just a bit worried." I told her.
"Ok, well Happy is going to pick you up in around half an hour, ok?" Mum told me.
"Ok," I said and then hung up.

"Urrr, my mum's friend is gonna pick me up in around half an hour," I told MJ loud enough so everyone could hear.
"Ok, well let's get packed up and ready," MJ suggested and I nodded.

Happy drove up to MJ's house and knocked on the door.
"Bye y/n, hope your dad is ok," MJ said as I was about to walk down the steps and get into the car.
"Thanks," i said with a small smile before getting in the car.

Happy drove away from the house and I stared out of the dimmed windows.
"You ok kid?" Happy asked.
"Yeahhh," i said wearily.
"We're all worried y/n you don't have to act brave around us," Happy said.
"Ok, and then yes...I am worried," I told him.
"That's ok, just know he will be ok, your dad's tough, he'll get through it." Happy said.

We didn't say much more until we got to the hospital. We both got out of the car, I left my bags there. I didn't need them.

We walked into the reception and saw Mum, Kate, Nat and Clint.
"Hey y/n, I'm so glad your ok," Mum said embracing me with a hug.
"How's dad?" I whispered in her ear while she hugged me.
"He's still unconscious, but the doctor told us we would be notified when he wakes up," My mum said loud enough for Happy to hear as well.

I went to sit down next to Kate, I picked up the magazine and flicked through it, not focusing on the stories about 'a mother that was kidnapped by a rabbit' or 'my husband convinced me that I wasn't a spirit (even though I don't believe him)'

For a period of time, I was staring at the clock. It took forever to move and it didn't distract me from my thoughts even though that's what I was trying to do.

The avengers changed who was here at certain times. This gave everyone the chance to see dad but also get some rest. Bruce and Wanda we're here now. My mum had tried to get me to go home with her but I refused. I wanted to stay here. I was worried enough here and I'd be more worried if I was at home.

"So y/n how long have you been here?" Bruce asked me.
"Since 10 o'clock this morning," I told him.
"Wow, that's a long time," Wanda said. "Do you want a drink or something?" She asked kindly.
"Uhmmm, can I have some coffee?" I asked her.
"This late?" Bruce asked concerned.
"Yeah," I told him confidently.

I needed the coffee. I was absolutely exhausted but I had to stay awake. I was too scared of the nightmares that I would receive if I went to sleep.

Wanda came back with the coffee and gave it to me, sitting down on the green arm chair next to me.

I took long sips of the coffee while I stared at the clock. It was 6:38pm. I had been the the hospital for around 8 and a half hours.

"Y/n, do you want to come back to the compound with me and Bruce?" Wanda asked.
"Uhm, no thank you," I told her.
"Are you sure? Wouldn't it be good to get some rest?" Bruce asked.
"I'm ok, I promise," I lied to the smoothly.
"If you say so," Wanda said before walking out of the door.

I waited for a few minutes on my own before Steve and Yelena walked in.
"Y/n?" Steve asked.
"Heyyy," I said waving at them.
"Your mother will be here in a bit, she's just putting Morgan to bed," Steve told me and I nodded.
"What's in the cup?" Yelena asked suspiciously coming to sit next to me.
"Oh, just some coffee," I told them casually.
"Coffee?" Steve asked alarmed.
"Yeah, and while your standing...can you get me some more?" I pleaded.
"Y/n, coffee is not good for you," Steve told me. It felt like I was being given a lecture in school about wearing a pair of earrings that we're too dangily or something stupid like that.

"Oh no, it's just keeping me awake," I said in a dreamily voice. Steve and Yelena stared at me with shock plastered over there faces.

It took me a second to understand why they we're looking at me like that. I was so tired that my defences we're falling down.

"What did you say?" Steve asked taking a double-take.
"N-nothing," I said trying to cover up what I had said.
"Y/n! This is not good behaviour. You need to rest, my daddy says so" Yelena said strictly.
"Yeah, well my daddy is stuck in one of those hospital rooms and may never come back out of them!" I exploded back at her.

Everyone was silent in the room.
"I'm so sorry Yelena, I didn't mean it. I'm so tired," I said. Tears we're forming in my eyes. My defences we're all down.

I fell to the floor and huddled myself into a ball lying my head against the seat on the chair. My vision was blurry but I could make out Steve and Yelena coming and sitting on the ground next to me.

"Y/n! Y/n, it's ok, don't cry honey," Yelena said putting her arm around her back.
"I know, I'm sorry," I told her.
"It's ok to feel this way. It's a lot to take on and when your so young as well. It's ok. Your ok," Steve told me lightly pulling my hair out of my face.
"Thanks," I snuffled. "It's been really hard for me but I didn't want to worry anyone," I told them truthfully.

Just then my mum came walking through the doors.
"Y/n? Y/n darling are you ok?" She asked me crouching down next to Steve.
"It's all too much for me," I told her through sobs. "I know it's hard for everyone that he's in there but it just really really hurts and I miss him," I told her.
"It's ok, and yes we all feel worried but it's even harder on you. I mean your just a kid," mum told me. I gave her a small smile and then hugged her and she hugged back.

We waited for a bit, talking absolute nonsense. However it was fun and distracted me.

I slowly yawned and realised that I was really tired.
"You can go to sleep if you want," Yelena told me.
"Hmmm," I mused thinking about the idea. It would probably be a good idea.

I was slowly dosing off until I saw someone walk through the doors. She was a nurse wearing a purple uniform.
"Ma'am, your husband has just woken up. He's going to be ok," the nurse told us.
"Really?" My mum asked shocked. "Oh that's amazing," she said happily slowly getting up off her seat.
"Yes, it is. I would let you see him now but unfortunately, visiting hours are finished and Mr Stark needs to rest," the nurse told us.
"Ok, that's fine," my mum said thinking through something in her head.
"You can see him tomorrow from 9am," the nurse told us and we nodded.
"Thank you, we will see you tomorrow," Steve said.
"Goodbye," the nurse said and we all waved before she went back through the door.
"Well that's good, now let's go home," Yelena suggested and we all nodded exiting the hospital.

I had a small smile growing on my face despite my tiredness. My dad was going to be ok.
