Swear

Y/N's POV:

"Hey Y/N," I hear coming from the hall. "Will! Hey, I was just about to head to bed," I said. "Me too, how's your day been so far?" he asked in response. "It was okay!" I smiled. There was a short silence before he interrupted it. "So you and Ranboo huh?" he asked. "Goodnight Wilbur Soot," I say turning back to the corridor. He laughed as I left and called out a goodnight to me. I couldn't help but snicker at the situation.

I woke up to my window curtains open and the sun hitting my face. I groaned before stretching and changing into a more casual formal outfit. I walked down the hall finding Puffy leaving new towels in small baskets in front of the guests' rooms. "Good morning Puffy! Is breakfast ready?" I ask. "Good morning your majesty, and breakfast should be done soon, I'll go collect the boys and lead them there," she smiled. "Alright, I'll get Wilbur for you!"

I knocked on the door six times, with a pause in between the first and last three. That was our way of knowing who was at the door. If he heard six knocks, he would know it was me and not someone else. "Come on in Y/N," he says, his voice deeper than usual from just waking up. "Oh, no, don't worry! I was just going to let you know that breakfast will be ready soon," I say. "Oh okay, thank you," he says before I shut his door.

I walked off to see Puffy and the guys walking towards the dining area, but the sweet boy with the black and white mask caught my eye. I walked a little faster to catch up with them before stopping when I reached him. "Good morning Ranboo!" I said. "Good morning Y/N," he said. Like always, I could just sense his smile from under the mask. We kept our chatting until we took our seats at the dining hall.

Ranboo's POV:

"Good morning everyone," King L/N beamed. "The first two dates the princess will go on will be with Prince Wilbur and Sir Ranboo," he said. "Sir Ranboo will go first at 2:00pm and then Prince Wilbur at 4:00pm. Feel free to begin eating now," he finished as the plates of pastries came out along with juices and yogurts were taken out on the table.

I took some different pastries that I liked and had some milk. I was anxious for the date... Knowing Wilbur, he probably submitted a fancy restaurant or he rented out a super expensive movie theater. I didn't feel like thinking and just wrote, "Horse ride on trail." That was probably a terrible idea, but it's a little late to change that now... Considering his date is right after mine, he's probably going to ask about my date and laugh at my idea...

Y/N's POV:

I was asked to over to the stables for my first date, there I saw Puffy, and a nervous Ranboo. "Your two hours start now," she smiles and leaves.

"Hey, so what will we be doing?" I smiled. "I-I was thinking about riding on a horse trail..." he mumbled. "Oh! That sounds wonderful, my father never let me ride a horse ever since I broke my arm riding when I was nine!" I say excitedly. I genuinely loved riding horses, and I've never been able to because of that accident eight years ago.

I wandered over to the new horses my dad had shipped in less than a week ago.

I chose the new black Friesian stallion while I see Ranboo walk towards my stallion's mate, the white mare. We got them ready and started trotting down the trail. "So how have you been? Tell me about Raynome," he questions the same way I had with him the day prior. "I've been well, and as for Raynome... I'm not the best with history," I laugh. "Oh come on! I told you about Snowchester," he says jokingly. "That's true... Well, Raynome was founded years and years ago, the name's origin in a mystery, but it stuck. We recently got out of debt, and we are 100% green, meaning we have no pollution coming directly from our citizens. The little pollution here is from bordering kingdoms," I smiled. "May I ask you a question now?" I ask. "You just did," he laughs. "No, I meant after that once," I laugh too. "Go ahead," he says.

"Why do you wear a mask?"

He seemed to freeze at this question so I immediately followed up with the classic "You don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable..." "N-No, it's okay, I just wasn't expecting it," he muttered. "I just have facial dysmorphia... I don't really like to see my face in pictures or reflections," he said quietly. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked," I say. "Don't be, its not your fault, and I've been getting a lot better recently. I've just gotten over wearing glasses to cover the top half," he says.

We continued talking about random things, just hitting the one hour mark, until my horse realized something and started rearing violently. I was just barely holding on and I suddenly felt myself being flung down onto the hard, rubble road. I had heard a yell for my name just as I fell. I seemed to pass out. Just before closing my eyes completely, I could hear Ranboo's voice. "I solemnly swear to protect you, no matter the situation".
