Y/N's POV:

I may as well have had a heart attack. Ranboo and I both froze, shocked, in fear, confusion, all those feelings at once. I knew this would happen, just not now!

I wasn't sure of what to do... My room is very close to the main entrance of the palace. That's when I remembered, years and years ago, a hatch behind every bedroom's dresser. They lead down a ladder to a vent like system where we can crawl and reach a basement. It would be safe in there as the few hidden hatches were the only way to access it.

I grabbed Ranboo's hand and pushed the dresser. We both crawled in and put the dresser as back in place as we could. I went in the front, leading the way from memory. I struggled a few times, not sure which way to take, but eventually, we found the ladder and crawled down.

I was about to cry until I opened the door and saw Puffy, Tommy, and all the 15 staff members. However, I didn't see my father or Wil..

"Puffy," I whispered. She let go of the hug she was giving me to look me in the eyes. "Where are Wilbur and my father...?"

I could see the sorrow in her eyes even in the dark. "Your... Father... and Wilbur... they said they would go defend the palace and cover the hatches in case anything was left out of place... They also were looking for you, but you're here," she said. "What if.. what if something happens to-" "Shh, they'll be okay Y/N," I heard Ranboo interrupt me and hug me. I buried my head into his chest and started crying.

What if they didn't make it?

What if they were still looking for me?

What if...

My chain of thoughts got interrupted once more by the boy I liked. I could just barely see his eyes in the dark, but I saw them. That's all I saw before I fell asleep.

Timeskip

I woke up laying in someone's arms. I looked up to see Ranboo looking at me. "Good morning Y/N," he whispered. "Good morning," I whispered and just lay me head back where it had been. Why did this all have to happen?

I guess Ranboo noticed that I was most likely overthinking and he lifted my chin. This whole time he hadn't had his mask with him.  I felt the same way I had felt during that moment before the palace was invaded. The same realization that I may have fallen for this boy I met just recently. Once more, we recreated that moment, but this time it was completed.

I felt... amazing. I felt safe. I forgot to worry about the palace or my people and everything else. I was locked in the moment. And I never wanted to leave it. However, considering there were almost 20 people in the room, we pulled away as not to make things awkward.

Less than a minute after, we heard a loud thump. Everyone looked around the room trying to figure out what happened. Looking at one of the vent openings, we could see a faint light and muffled voices. I scooted closer to Ranboo, who was also attentively looking towards the vent.

From all entrances, it was very easy to find the bunker. We all sat there, quiet. Probably contemplating whether or not to say your goodbyes before the soldiers came in and separated or killed us. I held Ranboo's hand, squeezing it tightly.

Everyone was scared. Everyone wanted this to be over with. We could hear more clearly, however, whoever was looking for us in the bunker had now stopped talking. Something else, the lamp or torch they had with them showed that they were very close because now we could actually see.

Everyone seemed to hold they breaths as we heard tinkering and mental clicking, most likely the entry hatch to the bunker.

The wave of relief that went through the room when we saw Wilbur's head pop out. He hopped out from the wall's vent, and went around giving everyone a bottle of water. I was asleep for a while, I don't know how long we had been in there, but I guess it had been a long time, because everyone finished that water in seconds. Or maybe we were afraid that would be the last of what we had before it was all over.

Wilbur then began to speak, louder than a whisper, but quieter than his regular voice. "The palace has been raided, I don't know where King L/N is, but I checked and there's nobody there right now, the best thing we can do is evacuate. I'm sure they'll be back. Another update, my home kingdom, Melodale is helping you out. Our soldiers are fighting along yours. For now, We'll go to my castle in the northern part of Melodale, far from Alastor's reach.

We all followed him quietly going through the vent once more. I looked around the once shining tile floors, and the furniture that had never been moved out of place before until now. I expected to see carriages, but instead I saw horses.

Everyone hopped on a horse without a problem, then they remembered my incident. I wasn't against horse riding, in fact I would love to be on one right now, but my arm... It's in a cast...

"I'll take you on mine and we'll drag along another horse just in case," I hear Ranboo say before getting off of his horse and helping me up. He hopped on behind me and we started out journey.

It was all clear, but then Wilbur announced that we needed to go through the wilderness instead of roads just in case. The dirt roads and forests would be uneven, but safe than being in view of the Alastor army.
