I never thought my life would flash before my eyes. I just found my happiness and it's already fading. I told her I would be safe, but I failed. The pain hurts so bad, and the darkness it trying to take over. All I can see is their smiles, and their dimples. I miss them so much, I promise myself that if I survive I will do right by them.

"SHOTS FIRED, we need backup. Have an ambo on stand we have an officer down... I repeat we have an officer down!!"

"Backup is headed in now!!"

"We have 3 suspects down, and 3 injured. "

Hank was able to apprehend the leading member of the team, while the others surrendered. Gabby and Brett came rushing in to help the officer that was down. There was a lot of blood pooling around his body. It didn't take long for Gabby to find the entry wound. It was pretty clean but that wasn't the problem, the problem was there was no exit wound. That could only mean one thing, the bullet was lodge somewhere in the body cavity. Time wasn't on their side, they needed to load him on the gurney, and get a move on it.

"Don't worry we got you, and it looks like there's an entrance wound but no exit wait there's a second whole, it's a through and through. We'll just pack the wound and bring you to Chicago med."

"C..Ca...Call her....."

"Call who?"

"M..m..my wiiiii.........."

"Jay...Jay open your eyes.... We lost his pulse..."

"I thought you said through and through!"

"The bullet probably hit something on the inside! Brett we gotta get him there now, I've already started compressions, I'm going to shock him."

"CLEAR....../\/\/\—— SHOCKING AGAIN CLEAR....../\/\/\/\/\/\ we've got rhythm, we gotta move now! Brett your gonna have to step on it......"

Special Agent Briggs stayed back and cleared the scene, while intelligence unit followed the ambulance to the hospital. Everyone was so focused on helping Jay that no one realized he asked for his wife.  So when Will came rushing through the Emergency Room, no one batted an eye. Everyone suspected that his emergency contact was still Hailey, but she wasn't.

Before Jay was rushed into surgery, they need a few signatures. He would definitely need blood, and any other medical needs.

"Okay, I need his medical proxy to signs some papers."

"That would be Hailey, that's his emergency contact."

"Where do I sign?"

Will finally spoke up, "Umm Umm, no where!"

"What do you mean?"

Will didn't want to tell the group so he whispered it into Goodwins ear, the shock on her face told everyone Jay was keeping secrets.

"Well then, never mind. Will, you can handle the paperwork portion. Just make sure she signs those papers."

"Of course!"

Everyone stood there lost, one minute Haileys about to sign papers then she's not. Will knew something, but he wasn't telling them. Gabby remembered him saying asking for someone. She asked Will if she could speak to him for a second. They stepped into the break room to discuss.

"So Jay has a secret, and I'm quite sure his team doesn't know but you do. Before we lost his pulse he asked for what sounded like his wife. Last I remember him and Hailey were engaged, but she didn't sign the papers."

"This stays between us?"

"Okay!"

"They broke off the engagement a few months back, this past weekend Jay went out of town with an engagement ring. There is a great chance he might've tied the knot too."
