Welp.

Idk

so lets go

===

He was laying on the floor of the room when a knock on the door got Hinata's attention, as it does sometimes. Slowly, he turned his head towards the sound, throwing a pillow over his face with a 'come in..'

He quickly removed the pillow as the door opened to reveal the now familiar face of Yachi, though he startled to see a man standing behind her that he'd never seen before.

As if the man hadn't seen him, which he definitely had, Hinata's eyes widened and he scampered under the bed, hiding on impulse.

Yachi inhaled and had the man wait outside the door, though not fully out of sight as she crouched down to him.

"Hinata? Don't worry, he won't hurt you...? He's just the doctor... And I'll stay here the whole time, okay?" She explained to him as he just stared owlishly at her.

"Please come out, he just needs to see that you're okay," She said softly, reaching a hand out slowly to not frighten him more than he was.

He'd been on a steep decline mentally over these past few days.

Hinata vaguely registered that he probably seemed like a child, so he did hesitantly crawl out from underneath the bed, a mix of emotions hitting him like a train when he saw Yachi's smile and the man behind her 's concerned stare, though the prevailing one was still fear.

Without taking his eyes off the tall man, he slowly sat on the bed and Yachi motioned for the doctor to sit on the chair a few feet away for the time being.

"Hinata, this our main doctor, Azumane Asahi. He's Going to check you for physical injuries, then he's going to uh... Assess your mental state.."

Hinata's wide eyes relaxed a bit as he turned to look at Yachi with something akin to playful disdain in his eyes. "You can say 'See if I'm crazy', Yachi. I won't attack you. I'm not that far gone."

This pulled a smile from the blonde. The personality she'd seen in the first few days beginning to shine through again was definitely a good sign.

Asahi waited patiently for one of them to address him, though it didn't take long for Hinata's eyes to slide back over to him.

"Get on with it i guess." Is all Hinata mumbled to him though. Even that was seen positively, as Yachi had been unsure of how willing Hinata would be to talk to an unfamiliar person.

Asahi nodded. "So, as she said, my name is Azumane Asahi. To do the physical part of the examination, I'll need to touch you, just moving your joints and checking for injuries. Is that alright?"

Hinata just nodded. He was a bit wary of one of the members of this place actually putting his hands on him, but what choice did he really have?

Asahi carefully moved over, reaching for his arm with a gentle smile, though Hinata was upset that he flinched once he actually reached flesh. Shutting his eyes tightly to ward any unwanted thoughts, he muttered "I'm fine." To the brunette's hesitation.

For the checkup of sorts, Asahi didn't have to touch him much, just move his arms and legs a bit and check them as well as his face neck and torso for any injuries, self inflicted or other. But it was still somehow calming when Yachi held his hand gently, mostly as reassurance that she was, in fact, there.

Once that part was done, Asahi gave him another smile, though Hinata noticed he looked just a little shy.

Which seemed a bit ridiculous to Hinata. This big, somewhat threatening man, being shy around the person they literally abducted?

Okay, maybe he was a little cute to Hinata, but you didn't hear that from me.

"Uhm, okay. You seem to be in good health! You should probably walk around some once you... can leave... Just because your joint are a little bit stiff. This next part is basically just some questions, and Yachi can stay if you'd prefer"

Asahi seemed either embarrassed or guilty, Hinata couldn't decide, when he mentioned leaving, but Hinata ignored that for now, nodding to having Yachi stay.

Speaking to someone else was an oddly enough, welcome change of pace, but he was wary about being alone with the man still.

"Alright, so first..."

.~*~.* After *.~*~.

"Yachi, may I speak with you outside?" Asahi said as he finished writing, looking over the notes once more.

Hitoka looked slightly concerned as she spoke, which did not help the sinking feeling in Hinata's stomach.

"Uhm, sure." She stood up, and with a shy smile to the ginger, the two left the room, leaving Hinata with his thoughts.

Now, of all times, Hinata did not want to be alone, but it was a bit late for protest.

But his stomach churned, and his thoughts raced as soon as the door closed behind them.

What if he didn't pass or whatever? What if they deemed that he needed to stay longer? What if they decided he was too far gone? Even, what if they did let him leave the room? What then? Did he really want to meet the men (Again) that got him here in the first place?

But gladly, he wasn't left long, as Yachi returned, alone this time.

"Uh... Hinata? Hinata?" She placed a hand on his shoulder, and he flinched away, before relaxing again as he recognized her. "Sorry, you were muttering... Anyways, " She smiled, broader and more excited than she had in a while.

"Asahi said you're good to go! So, here are some clothes, you can wash up, and then meet... everyone..." She seemed happy and excited, but she faltered a bit at the end.

"Of course, you don't have to meet all of them today, but some of them. Or all if you want. You don't have to see the boss today either, and if you want you don't have to-" Hinata cut Yachi off with a tired smile.

"Calm, Yachi. I'll meet them." He paused. "Thanks, Yachi."

She blushed, but then smiled sadly. "It's the least I could do, It was getting ridiculous." She muttered the last part, referring to her boss.

Hinata headed to the bathroom but stopped when he got to the door.

"One more thing?"

"Hm?"

Hinata looked somewhere between blank and embarrassed, how that was possible was anyone's guess.

"Please don't leave. I don't exactly want to be alone right now."

The blonde agreed immediately.
