Miriam POV:

"Yeah"

She agreed with me. We walked together in silence to our first class. History. We make it and the teacher asked why we were late, I was going to cover for us, but Y/n butted in.

"Sorry-"

"Sorry Ms. I got a new schedule and didn't know what was where. I bumped into Miriam and she had the same classes as me."

"Oh, well, sit down over there and try not to be late next time"

She nods motions for me to sit next to her. I do so. But I could barely focus on the lesson. All that was going through my head was that I was sitting next to her, and if I should make a move on her. But by the time I was about to do so, the bell for 2nd period goes off. I quickly pack up my things, and walk with Y/n to our next class. We had Chemistry.

When we entered. Sir partnered us up. Since she didn't know what to do. I had the notes, but still had no clue on what to do.

"Could you explain step by step on what you have down?"

"U-uh.. sure..."

"Good"

"Step One...."

I explained it to her, and she seemed to get it right. Soon we finished, and the teacher checked our thing. He put in a substance that would make it delay an explosion. We waited 5 seconds and nothing happened.

"Maybe I didn't put enough in t-"

It exploded. And Y/n was right in front of it.

"-o active it..."

Tyler spoke up and he made the class start laughing at her. I walked up to her and touch her shoulder, she shoved it off her and ran out. I look at sir and he nods. I ran out after her. I didn't care if I still had my science gear on, I was going to find her. I heard crying from one of the stalls. I knock on it.

"W-whos there?"

"It's me, Miriam"

Suddenly the door unlocked and I push it open. I see her sitting on the toilet seat. I shut the door and lock it then turn around looking back at her.

"Sorry, I get embarrassed easily..."

"It's okay, Mistakes happen"

"You don't get it.. I can't make mistakes!"

"...Y/n..."

"My father expects me to come home everyday with staright a's and 100%'s, but ever since my mum... Died... I haven't been like that..."

I listen carefully.

"I always get D's and even F's now. But they never bothered me. And if I don't get at least a B+ in all subjects he either kicks me out, or I never get to visit my mother's grave again..."

"He can't do that!!"

"I've tried telling him that, but turns out he can..."

"That's so sad, I didn't know you went through so much..."

"And making my first ever friends actually accomplish something this year!"

"Wait, you have heeps of friends though"

"People say that, but they aren't my friends, just people who follow me around like puppy dogs"

"Well, you got yourself some friends now!"

"Thank you!!"

She jumped up and hugged me. My stomach flutters and my face goes red, along with my ears. I slowly hug her small body back. I relaxed in the hug with the feeling of passing out then and there.

"No problem"
