Chris entered the bedroom as he watched Penelope rocking the baby to sleep. He laid down next to her. "Took us some time, but here we are, finally with our baby."
She smiled, resting her head on his as he rested his on her shoulder, "yes." She looked down at their daughter, Melanie. "She's so pretty."
He chuckled, "that's because she looks like you." He ran his hand gently across her head covered in copper hair. "I love you Penny Lane. I have something for you." He leaned up, kissing her before getting up from the bed.
She watched him grab the baby from her, setting Melanie in the bassinet beside the bed before he grabbed something from his nightstand.
"I know the last two years have been a roller coaster to say the least. But we're finally here with what we want." He sighed, "well, almost all we want." He handed her the small ring box, "will you marry me Penny Lane?"
She opened the box, finding a small diamond engagement ring. "It's all I want Chris." She grabbed his face in her hands, pulling his lips to hers, "I love you so much." She leaned forward, resting her forehead on his, "we probably would have been here already if I hadn't lost the baby. But you've been so patient here with me, taking care of me. I'm sorry."
"Hey! It wasn't your fault. I know you blame yourself, but you shouldn't. I love you Penny. And I want to marry you and have more copper haired babies with you."
She laughed, "me too."
He nodded, "so is that a yes Penelope Sloane?"
"Of course it is." She slipped the ring on her finger before pulling him to her on the bed.

****1 year later****
Penelope sat at the head table as she felt Chris lean over to her.
"It's time for our first dance as husband and wife."
She smiled, standing up with him, "what song did you pick?"
He grinned, grabbing her hand, "you'll see."
She rolled her eyes as they music started, making her laugh, "Lionel Richie?"
He shrugged, "I didn't think you'd go for the Beatles."
She laughed, "definitely not." She rested her head on his chest as she let him lead her around the dance floor.

She nodded, "I was going to tell you later, but I think now is as good a time as any." She grunted as he lifted her off the ground, "that's enough. You're going to make me throw up."
He laughed, "I thought I noticed your glass of champagne never seemed to empty."
She brought her hand up to the nape of his neck, "yes. I love you Chris."
He grinned, "oh Penny Lane. I love you so much."
