Penelope looked up from the kitchen counter to see Chris enter the house with some bags, "do you need help?"
He shook his head, setting them on the counter, "no." He pulled out a bottle of whiskey, setting it in front of her, "just some essentials."
Penelope laughed, "whiskey is an essential?"
He smirked, "it is, yes. You're too uptight. I thought we could use this to loosen you up."
She snickered, "loosen up something alright."
He groaned, "you really think I'm so sleazy that I want to get you drunk just to sleep with you? I want you to want to sleep with me, not because you're drunk. You really must think I'm such a creep."
Penelope sighed, "no. I don't think you're a creep Chris. I'm sorry."
Chris scoffed, "right." He poured her a shot, sliding it to her. He watched her roll her eyes before taking it down quickly.
"Happy?"
He smiled, "mildly." He pulled other stuff from the bags, putting away the groceries. "Do you want to order a pizza for dinner?"
She shrugged, "do what you want, I'm not hungry."
He nodded, watching her a minute, "I haven't seen you eat anything all day. You can't drink on an empty stomach Pen."
"First of all, don't call me Pen. Second of all, just because you haven't seen me eat anything doesn't mean I haven't. And last, don't tell me what to do." She poured another shot, downing it quickly before pouring to push towards Chris, "now catch up."
He chuckled, "okay then." He drank the shot before pouring himself another, taking it with a smile, "happy now?"
She smirked, "mildly."
Chris laughed, turning on music as he turned back to her. He heard her groan as he pulled her to her feet, "come on. Why are you always so uptight?"
Penelope groaned as she looked up at him as he tried to dance with her, "I'm not normally uptight. I've had a lot going on and we're supposed to just be working. I don't want to...get distracted."
He nodded, placing her arms around his neck, "by me, you mean?"
Penelope sighed, "maybe. What did I do? You like me one minute, and the next you don't. I use to have a huge crush on you."
"Then why did you say no when I asked you out?"
She groaned, "I meant what I said. I didn't want to date another actor. And you were just making it big. I was afraid I'd end up with my heart broken."
Chris nodded, "and yet it was me who had their heart broken. That's not what you told your friends after I asked you out."
"What do you mean?" She sighed when she heard her phone ring, seeing Isaac's name pop up, "I'm gonna take this outside." She saw him only nod as she answered, going outside with the back door open. "Isaac? What's up?"
He sighed, 'I miss you Pen. I wanted to know if I can come visit you.'
Penelope scoffed, "you said you didn't want to be with me anymore. That it was too hard dating an actor."
Chris heard Penelope on the phone, taking her the whiskey bottle. He smiled when she accepted it, taking a drink.
'I know Pen. I'm sorry. I was just mad that you had to live with Chris. But we can work it out.'
"Work it out how? I'm still going to be an actor Isaac. Nothing is changing that."
Chris sighed, "Penny Lane! Come back inside!"
Penelope turned back to Chris as he laughed in the doorway.
'Is that him now?! You're always with him!'
Penelope laughed, "yeah. That's what happens with you live with someone." She took another drink, watching Chris. "He's just drunk, ignore him." She stifled a giggle as Chris pretended to look offended.
'Are you drunk? Are you drinking with him?'
Penelope rolled her eyes, "maybe. It doesn't matter. I'm sorry Isaac. I don't plan on going backwards. Only forwards. If you can't handle me living with Chris and having to make out with him for work, then you'll always find something to complain about going forward. Best to just cut our losses now. I'm sorry." She sighed, hanging up before he could respond. She laughed at Chris, "don't you Penny Lane me."
Chris laughed as he took the bottle of whiskey from her, moving to let her inside the house, "you know you used to like me calling you that. That was until I asked you out."
She nodded, "that's because you became a dick after that. Why?"
Chris sighed, bringing his hand up to her hair, "I heard you talking to your friends after I asked you out. You said you didn't go out with me because you said I was a creep and would only sleep with you and never see you again. It hurt my feelings because I really liked you."
"What?! No! Chris, that's not what happened."
"I heard you Penny." He went to turn away but Penelope grabbed his hand, making him look at her.
"No." She grabbed the whiskey bottle from him, setting it on the counter. She placed her arms around his neck, "no. I wanted you Chris. I regretted saying no. If you would have asked again, I would have said yes. Those things you heard were not about you, I promise. They were about the guy I was talking to before you came up to me. He was an older guy that always tried to get me to go out with him." She moved a hand to his cheek, "I wanted you."
"You did?"
She nodded as she crashed her lips into his, making him moan as he guided her to the couch, pinning her under him. She moaned as he trailed his lips down her jaw to her neck and shoulder. She groaned, pushing him away, "no. Not like this, I'm drunk Chris."
He nodded, sitting back on the couch, "you're right. I'm sorry." He pulled her into his lap, making her straddle him as she rested her head against his. "I thought you thought I was a creep."
Penelope shook her head, "not until after you started being a dick."
Chris laughed, "I'm sorry. I should have asked you about it a long time ago." He brought his hand up to her cheek, "we should go to bed."
"Yeah." She stood up from his lap as he grabbed her hand as he stood up.
"We have a day off tomorrow. What do you say we go out on an actual date? We're supposed to appear to be dating anyways."
"Really?"
Chris chuckled, "yeah. I'll figure out something for us to do?"
She nodded, "sure. Goodnight Chris." She leaned up, kissing him on the cheek before going to her room. She had just gotten comfortable in bed when she felt Dodger jump onto the bed with her at her feet. She turned to see Chris standing in the doorway.
"Can I sleep here with you? Just sleep."
Penelope hesitated, but nodded as she moved over for him to lay down next to her. She rolled to face him, resting her head on his chest as she felt him rest his head on hers.
