Vina
"VINA! Okay ka lang?!"
Morning meeting.
I won't even be surprised kung rinig hanggang sa buong hallway ang boses niya.
Nakita ko!" he insists, following me like a lost puppy. "Nakita ko sa mukha mo! May pasa!"
It'll be a disaster if ever.
Reasons? Pagiging basagulera at padalos-dalos.
"Vina," may bahid ng pag-aalala ang boses ni Apollo nang sabihin niya ang pangalan ko, after gently cupping both of my cheeks on his palms.
"Nadulas," I lied.
He stood there on my right side, his hands hanging at his sides, seemingly caught in an internal struggle. It was as if he grappled with his own thoughts, debating whether to persist with his questioning or to let it go. The latter option seemed to be gaining the upper hand, but his uncertainty gnawed at him.
If truth be told, I despised it when he acted this way, for I was well aware, as was everyone else, of the special affection he harbored for me. Yet, I desired none of it, as I saw him solely as a friend—nothing less, nothing more.
As he opened his mouth to speak, someone rudely interrupted, diverting our gaze to the office door.
A low, panting, and masculine voice called out my second name, "Nyx," filled with concern. The owner of the voice had two strikingly different eye colors, one black and one yellow, and he scanned the room with those unusual eyes.
Apollo's brows furrowed upon recognizing the newcomer, clearly annoyed. He struggled to suppress the negative emotions and put on a smile that failed to reach his eyes.
