"From this day forth, in sickness and health, for richer or poor. I promise to love and cherish you each day." Annie stood in a beautiful white dress. Her red hair was a vibrant contrast. Trees and plant life surrounded her and Finnick. It was a pleasant sight to see, and it made her smile. They looked happy. That was hard to find these days.
Today, Finnick and Annie were getting married. Coin thought the ceremony would be good footage to broadcast to Snow. Showing off that everything in District 13 was perfect. "I, Finnick Odair, take you, Annie Cresta, as my wife from this day forth. Together or apart, we will always be united. One life, one purpose, one destiny."
"You may now kiss the bride." They kissed. Everyone clapped, including Amelia. The entire ceremony, she could feel Haymitch staring at her. They stood shoulder to shoulder. He refused to part from her side, but she didn't mind anymore.
Finally, Amelia looked back at him. "I'm pretty sure it's rude to stare."
Haymitch smiled at her. "You look good." She looked beautiful, but he always thought she looked beautiful.
"Thank you," she stopped clapping. "Effie had me cleaned up, as she would say. She even tweezed my eyebrows. It hurt." That caused the older man to laugh. Finnick and Annie walked down the aisle, hand in hand. They looked happy. Amelia was happy for them. They both deserved to be happy. She hoped it would stay that way for them forever.
But she knew it wouldn't.

Amelia wasn't a dancer. She remembered Haymitch making her dance once. It seemed like a lifetime ago, but it wasn't. How much had changed since then.
Amelia wished she could turn back the clock. Return to a simpler time, but that wasn't possible. This was her life now. This was her unfortunate reality. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the festivities. The music was upbeat and loud. It echoed through the room. There was a group to her right recording the scene. Amelia knew it was for propaganda footage. They wanted to show the Capitol that life in District 13 was good.
Finnick and Annie danced in the center. Many people Amelia didn't know had joined them. Haymitch was standing to the side with Plutarch and Coin. He got along with them much better than she did.
Amelia didn't like President Coin. She accused the Victors that Snow had taken of treason. She thought lowly of them because of this. It wasn't their fault that they were abandoned in the arena. "Why aren't you dancing with your husband?" It was Johanna.
"What?" The girl sat down beside Amelia. "Haymitch?"
"Yeah." Johanna grabbed the necklace she was wearing. "What did you think the ring was for?" Amelia blinked a few times. It never occurred to her that the ring was a wedding ring.
"It's a wedding ring?"
Johanna laughed, crossing her arms. "I thought you were supposed to be smart?" She dropped the ring. "Anyway, that's not why I came over here." Amelia never had a chance to question her. "How badly do you want Snow dead?" She didn't respond. "Because if you're serious, your Mockingjay is going after him."
"I'm serious," Amelia responded. "I want him dead. It's all I can think about." Johanna knew the feeling, but she wasn't in the right frame of mind to help Katniss. Amelia wasn't either, but they were different people.
That seemed to be enough for Johanna. "They're shipping supplies to the front lines around midnight. Hanger two. Your Mockingjay is planning on catching the flight. I suggest," Johanna moved closer. "You do the same. Given you're serious about killing Snow."
Amelia glanced at Katniss, who was dancing with her sister. "Thank you, Johanna."
"Do me a favor, at least try to survive. You're really the only friend I have."
