"her hair is so pretty," my mom cooed at kaaliya. i finally brought her over here for everyone to see her. i didn't want one anyone at my house so everyone was at my mom's.
"it's all that indian in her," my dad walked in handing luca a drink.
"wait who indian?" dee asked looking up.
"egypt," luca said nodding towards me.
"oh i thought you was just jamaican," kendra said confused.
"jamaican from my side, trini and indian from her dad," my mom said as she bounced kaaliya in her arms. kaaliya just stared at her with her big eyes.
"i thought yo ass was just black," deante shrugged.
"no one can be just black dee," my mom said, "we all come from somewhere. you're family must've lost touch with their routes,"
"i don't be giving a fuck fr," he said honestly.
"don't be cussing in front of my child," i mugged him and luca chuckled.
"i've never seen egypt in mommy mode before," ken laughed.
"this not even it," luca said shaking his head. i mugged him.
"aww i'm so proud of you baby," my mom said looking up at me before looking down at kaaliya again. i gave her a narrow smile and looked away.
i didn't want anyone around my baby yet but ma kept insisting. i didn't even want to be here right now. i just wanted to be at home, in bed, cuddled up with kaaliya. but she had to get used to her family somehow so here we were.
