Jack opened his eyes, examining the room he's held in. Feeling something cold wrapped tightly around his wrist. Holding him back on any thought of escaping or walking any further to explore.
He groaned as he finally felt all the pain inside his body. And then, on the ground, a few droplets of redish liquid scattered on the floor below until he realized it was his. Blood streamed from his head, down to his cheeks and dropping to the floor.
Feeling his head throb every once in a while, he glance at his left, seeing a metal cage with 3 infants inside. Sandy. Tooth and North himself. Looking at Jack in awe. Fear lingered across his wondrous eyes. And then, he faced upfront and the scene made his heart fall into the deepest dark abyss on Earth.
Nothing could've looked more terrifying than this. E. Aster Bunnymund. The toughest rabbit he'd ever met had a collar wrapped around its furry neck. His once gray fur dripped in blood. His knees connecting to the floor as his chest moved up and down. The only sign that he was still alive despite the way he looks.
"Bunny . . . mund." He called. His voice as groggy as he'd imagined. Almost weary in a way. But his throat was dry. It hurts. He didn't remember much that happened after their fight. He didn't even know who beat them. It's either the both of them or Pitch.
But the rabbit didn't respond. He didn't need to. Except, he only raised his head. Meeting Jack's ocean colored orbs. Jack could see the intense pain and rage inside the rabbit's green orbs. Almost like a burning flame of hatred towards the person doing this to them. But soon, his eyes softened upon seeing the look of the Young Guardian.
His once ocean blue jacket soaked with red blood. Half of his fave covered with blood. His chest heaving up and down. His lungs begging for air. But that wan't the worst part of all. Both his hands and feet were chained. Hands above his head and feet stretched. And behind him was the sign of Man in Moon. A huge moon and above were their symbol. The Tooth Fairy. The Sandman. The Easter Bunny. Santa Claus and . . . Jack O' Frost.
He didn't have the exact right words to describe the pain and hatred he felt to Pitch for tormenting them like this. Of all people. Of all the people in the entire world, he should've chosen someone else. But no, he had to torture him.
At that moment on, Bunnymund swore his life that he would make Pitch suffer. No matter how bad it sounds. No matter how it's against the Guardian rules...He had to do it. He just had to.
"You . . ." Bunnymund's eyes were glued to the bitter smile across Jack's lips, "You . . . look . . . like a . . . retarded . . . kangaroo." he chocked and coughed up blood as he laughed. Then, he groaned, "Ugh . . . It hurts."
Bunnymund shook his head, his eyes filled with malice. The desire of making Pitch suffer the same as Jack did lingered across his every veins. He couldn't talk. He didn't know why, though. It seems that he'd lost every desire to talk. But he need to. He had to tell him what he had in mind. Before it's too late.
"J-Jack . . . I . . . I'm sorry . . . fo-for blowin' . . . our . . . co-cover." he managed to say out loud despite the pain he felt in his throat, Jack's eyes focused on the talking six-foot rabbit in front of him. Letting the blood drop from his head down to the floor.
"I'll get us out of here . . . Trust me . . . I will." he could feel his throat bleeding every time he pushed himself to speak.
Jack didn't do anything but to stare into the rabbit's green orbs, taking in every word he had said. His chest carrying a heavy kind of unknown feeling every time he heard the six-foot rabbit talk. His voice was husky as it was before but something was odd at the tone of his voice. As if an unbearable feeling lingered in it.
"Bu-Bunnymund . . . Do-Don't . . . blame yourself . . . It wasn't-wasn't your fault." Jack stuttered, feeling his self slowly losing conscious. But he tried to hard to grasp it as long as he could. He wanted to comfort the six-foot rabbit in front of him. He had to. Or else he'd think that this was entirely his own fault. His eyelids slowly dropping to shut his eyes. But he tried to hold it back.
Bunnymund only nodded. He was tired. Exasperated. Exhausted. Hurt. His throat was bleeding. Literally. He did not remember how or why it was bleeding. He focused on the pain in his throat and Jack seemed to sense what was happening to his six-foot rabbit friend.
His ocean blue colored orbs were attached, almost as if it was glued permanently to his green ones. Until he let himself fall into the black abyss of nothingness. Feeling himself drifting off into a deep slumber but without the Sandman? What kind of dream would he have? Is it even related to a sweet dream? Or maybe a sweet nightmare?
