She couldn't rat the three apprentices out. They acted on what they thought was right, and it would be wrong to punish them for that. Billypaw took a moment to collect herself, as soon as her heartbeat wasn't pounding in her ears, she began to trek back to camp.

Billypaw froze.

Something was watching her in the moonlit clearing. She looked around, senses sharp despite tiredness clouding her vision and slowing her thoughts. Then, a soft white glow blinks into existance at the end of the clearing and gradually expanded.

The soft glow formed the image of a tom. He walked towards her.

"Hello Billypaw," he meowed.

A Starclan cat? Did she anger Starclan in some way? Billypaw had heard stories of the star-specked pelts of Starclan cats appearing in medicine cat's visions, but never did the apprentice think one would appear in front of her.

"Hello?" Billypaw mewed.

The tom's white pelt shone in the moonlight, and his eyes glinted.

"You've done well so far," he meowed, "But there are still a lot of things that you need to learn."

Billypaw responded with a meow, "I have to learn how to be a true warrior."

The Starclan cat nodded, "This is true, but there are other things you need to learn. You are teaching yourself the wrong things."

"What do you mean?"

"you are focusing on what you're lacking, instead of what you're good at.You're fast learner. You're a smart cat, you learn from your mistakes. You're worth more than you think," the Starclan tom meowed calmly.

"I'm Darksight, and I'll be teaching you how to become a warrior."

"What about my mentor?"

"He has done well to teach most of the apprentices, but he fell short when he came to you."

The tom began to circle Billypaw, "You are not an average cat, and you need to be taught differently. Wolfclaw doesn't see that."

Taught differently? What does he mean? No, he isn't trying to make me a medicine cat too, is he?

Darksight's deep meow broke through Billypaw's thoughts, "You don't want to go back home right now Billypaw."

Billypaw blinked, "What? why not?"

"It's not the safest place to be at the moment, as you have experienced."

Billypaw thought back to when she was thrown in the water by three apprentices.

"It isn't safe for my friends either! Whitepaw still hasn't recovered!" Billypaw expressed.

Darksight's gaze rested upon Billypaw, it seemed as if his gaze went through her, however. Billypaw shivered.

"Your friends will be fine, and you will come back, for now though, Mistclan isn't safe for is you," The glowing tom explained.

"But I need to protect everyone," Billypaw squeaked.

Darksight turned his gaze to the trees, "And how do you expect to do that when you barely have any training?"

Billypaw stared at Darksight in silence. She felt as if she was being scolded.
