The clacking heels and shoes beating the dance floor was the only thing Josephine Sheldon was listening for. She had a date about 15 minutes ago, but he had left to go hassle some kids down at the park.

----------

"You doing alright?" Josie heard a sweet familiar voice ask, she looked up to see standing there the gorgeous red head that belongs all to her brother. Josie chokes on the punch she was sipping and wipes the juice off of her lips with her forearm.

"Hey Cherry, i'm doing just fine now." Josephine said, gripping her cup in both her hands as Cherry sat down next to her.

"I mean are ya friends here or anything since rotten old Bobby couldn't make it?" Josephine asks Cherry. Josie looked into her eyes, Cherries eyes were a beautiful green color that could distract Josephine for days. Josephine would try to keep her distance with Cherry so nothing slips up though.

"They're here, but they all left me for their dates, some real friends i got there huh?" Cherry responds with a laugh and nudges Josephine on the shoulder.

"Some friends." Josephine responds with a nervous laugh, she was nervous because she was caught by surprise at the time she aint expect a thing. Last time Josie had seen Cherry it was when Cherry and Bob were in an argument about him going over and messing with them Greasers then book it right on after. After they had that argument Josephine talked to her about how bad Bob can get, Josie said she don't get what Cherry sees in him, yes it's her brother and she's not supposed to see anything in him, but she knows her brother is no good. Cherry just looked at Josephine , inhaled and just walked on out the door.

Josephine would think she had some type of disease because she liked a girl the way she was "meant" to like a guy. She knew it was wrong. Everyone says it's wrong, she knows she's supposed to be with a man, but she finds no interest in it at all. Josephine always thinks she's just with the wrong guy. But when she thinks about it, she doesn't want a guy she wants Cherry, and Cherry Valance is a woman.

"How have ya been?" Josephine asked Cherry while avoiding eye contact but still making some form of contact. Cherry dipped her head low to meet up with Josephine's turned down head. "I'm fine, but are you sure you're alright there Josie?" Cherry asked in concern, Josephine couldn't look Cherry in the eye without that feeling of swarming butterflies picking at her stomach.

Josie had never felt this way about a person and that's how she knew it was love. When she was younger Josephines mother would always tell her stories about a princess and a prince.
The prince and the princess would be in love, they'd do anything for each other, they feel when together, and that's how she feels when she's with Cherry but she doesn't feel that way about Josephine, but she knows Cherry doesn't feel it with Bob either.

Josephine still couldn't look Cherry in the eye and while being an idiotic person she ran out to the bathroom stalls. After about 4 minutes, Cherry found out Josephine was in the stalls.
"Are you alright, are you on your period or somethin?" Cherry said while tucking her red styled hair behind her ear and holding a hand bag. Josephine walked out the stall door and smiled.

"I'm fine, i just thought i felt something." Josie responded with a soft chuckle following up after. Cherry looked at Josie with widened eyes.
"Felt something as in ya think Mikel gotcha pregnant?" Cherry said smiling with a mischievous smile. Josie laughed and instantly shook her head.
"No no no, that's not the case." Josie replied, Cherry looked at her and gave her the "what's the case" typa look.
"I just thought my nose was bleeding." Josephine said with a smile on her face turning her head to look at Cherry.
Cherry looked at Josie and lifted her head off the wall.
"You coulda just got a napkin in the gym?" Cherry said. Josie looked at Cherry and opened her mouth for about 5 seconds before saying.
"Well..."
Cherry clicked her tongue and got up. "Whatever, it's none of my business. I'll stay in my lane." Cherry said reaching a hand out to Josie.

Josephine hated yet loved the way Cherry was so blind to the fact that Josie loved her in a way she couldn't resist. Josephine liked the way Cherry smelt. She smelled like the way having fun with no worries feel, and sometimes even actual smells like cherries. And Josephine adored that, she adored the smile when she laughed at a stupid joke. Josephine was feeling ways she could never tell anyone. Josephine.
