——————————❄️——————————"...It was awesome!" Jamie exclaimed as he told the story to his sister. "So I was flying down this hill and it was like whoosh, whoosh, through these cars and then the sled hit this thing and it was like way up in the air! And then bam, the sofa hit me...and see, my tooth came out!" Jamie lifted his upper lip to show his missing tooth.
Sophie giggled at him.
"Alright, you. Tooth under your pillow?" His mom asked.
"Yeah, I'm ready."
"Now don't stay up trying to see her Jamie, or she won't come."
But I can do it this time! You wanna help me Soph? We can hide and see the Tooth Fairy!"
"Hide, hide, hide, hide." Sophie chanted.
"Uh-uh. Straight to bed now mister." His mother scolded. She picked up Sophie and carried out of the room as Jamie flipped on his bed and groaned.
Unbeknownst to them, Jack was peering into Jamie's room and smiling at them, before his smile was replaced with a frown. Jack moved away from the window, and stood on top of their roof.
He look to his left and saw (Y/n) crouching down on the roof with her bow in her hand. She had an arrow locked in and was aiming at something. Jack's frown turned into a smile again, and crouched next to her.
"So, which two lucky lovers get to be the victim of the lovely Cupid?" Jack asked.
(Y/n) playfully rolled her eyes and gestured to a man that was leaning against a lamppost. The man has his hands in his pockets and was looking very sad. Then (Y/n) gestured to over to a bench that was a few feet away where a woman was sitting, reading a magazine under another street lamp.
"I'm waiting for one of them to look up at the other so I can shoot, but neither of them have moved." She explained.
Jack thought for a moment before he perked up, suddenly getting an idea.
He made the wind blow the magazine out of the woman's hands and towards the man. The woman gasped and chased after it. The magazine blew until it hit the man's leg and he looked down at it and picked it up.
The woman stopped in her tracks and looked up at the man who had caught her magazine and cleared her throat. The man looked up at her and that's when (Y/n) fired.
The arrow went right through the woman, and pink sparkles appeared in her eyes. (Y/n) fired another arrow and this one went through the man, and the same thing happened.
They both blushed, and the man gave the woman her magazine back, and the two walked back over to the bench and started talking with each other.
(Y/n) smiled at her work and Jack gasped in awe. He always loved seeing (Y/n) do her job, because it meant he got to see her smile. He always thought she looked so pretty when she smiled.
(Y/n)'s smile fell away, and became a look of sadness. Jack frowned and placed a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him and gave him a small smile. They both stood up and looked up a the moon.
"If there's something we're doing wrong, can you just tell us what it is?" Jack asked. "Because we've tried everything, and no one ever sees us."
"Why us? Why did you choose us? Why did you make me Cupid? Why is he Jack Frost?" (Y/n) wondered.
They didn't receive an answer and Jack furrows his eyebrows.
"You put me here. You put her here too! He least you can do is tell us...tell us why." Jack pleaded.
Still nothing.
Jack sighed, giving up, and flew over to a telephone wire. (Y/n) spread her wings and flew after him.
"Hey...you okay?" (Y/n) asked hesitantly.
"Yeah. I just...I wish I wasn't invisible. And I wish you weren't invisible. You deserve to be believed in." Jack told her.
"So do you, Jack." She said, taking his hand.
Jack smiled and they walked along the wire, and Jack covered it in frost.
Suddenly, a golden sand trail flew in front of them. The two turned around, smiling, and saw multiple golden trails flying through the air.
"Right on time Sandman." Jack sighed.
Jack reached up and touched a stream and the and morphed into a dolphin. (Y/n) touched on too, and a flock of hummingbirds flew around her making her giggle. Jack turned and saw (Y/n) twirling around while the birds flew around her. Jack leaned against his staff as he watched her, a goofy, love struck smile making its way into his face. (Y/n) turned and faced Jack and grabbed his hand pulling him into the swarm of birds, the two laughing and twirling around with each other.
...
Meanwhile, one of Sandy's sand trails made its way into Cupcakes room. The strand morphed into a miniature version of Cupcake riding a unicorn. The girl smiled and hugged her unicorn plushy to her.
A voice laughed maliciously from somewhere in the shadows. A figure appeared from the corner and walked towards the girl. It was Pitch Black.
"Oh, I thought I heard the clippity-clop of a unicorn. What an adorable dream. And look at her. Precious child. So sweet. So full of hope and wonder. Why, there's only one thing missing. A touch of fear." He hissed.
Pitch pressed a finger to the unicorn, and the sand changed from gold, to black. Cupcake started to whimper.
"That never gets old. Feel your fear. Come on. Come on, that's right." The black sand morphed into a dark horse. "Yes, what a pretty little nightmare! Now, I want you to go tell the others the wait is over."
The nightmare flew out of the window and raced off into the night. Pitch was now outside, and looked up at the moon.
"Don't look at me like that old friend. You must have known this day would come. My Nightmares are finally ready." Pitch smiled evilly. "Are your Guardians?"
