Chapter 17: A Little Fun Instead

"Get Jamie out of here." Jack commanded.

He and (Y/n) both looked at each other and nodded before they both flew up to Pitch.

"Jack Frost? Cupid?" Pitch sneered. "Let's finish this shall we?"

Jack and (Y/n) shot blue and gold light at Pitch but she managed to block it.

"That little trick doesn't work on me anymore."

Pitch shot blasts of sand at them and they fell out of the sky into an alleyway where the other Guardians were leading Jamie away.

"Jack! (Y/n)!" Jamie cried.

Jack sat up and checked on (Y/n). "Are you okay?" He asked in concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little sore." She replied.

"That was good try you two. 'A' for effort." North said optimistically.

"He's stronger. We can't beat him." Jack sighed.

Pitch's cold laugh sounded above them. "All this fuss over one little boy, and still he refuses to stop believing. Very well. There are other ways to snuff out a light."

"If you want him, you're gonna have to go through me." Bunny said, stepping forward.

"Look how fluffy you are. Would you like a scratch behind the ears?" Pitch mocked.

Bunny jumped onto North's hand. "Don't you even think about it." Bunny snapped.

Some of Pitch's Nightmares stepped forward, Pitch riding in the back of one of them.

"I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see you all like this. You look awful." He smirked.

"Jack, I'm scared." Jamie told him.

Jack knelt down to Jamie.

"Jack, I'm scared!"

"I know, I know. But your gonna be alright."

"We're gonna have a little fun instead." Jack whispered to himself. "That's it! That's my center!" Jack realized.

Jamie gave him a confused look.

"What?" (Y/n) asked.

"Fun! It's my center! And yours is love! Think about it, you were willing to risk your life for your family because you loved them. And you always helped people because your heart is so big. It's one of the reasons why I love you."

"I love you too Jack." She smiled.

Pitch slowly made his way closer to the Guardians. "So what do you think, Jamie? Do you believe in the Boogey-!"

Pitch was cut off by a snowball nailing him right in the face. Some of the Nightmares shot up and looked at each other in disbelief. While the Guardians and Jamie laughed.

"Now let's go get your friends." Jack said.

Pitch wiped the snow from his face and looked down to see that everyone was gone, leaving only a trail of ice behind them.
