James POV

Date: 04/14/2011

"Early Morning..."

James: *I still can't get what I just saw out of my head. I know that it was Adachi who threw Saki into the TV. But after seeing that woman with the Hannya Mask on the Midnight Channel. Something is not right at all. And if it's true, Then telling them the truth may not be the best option. Not until I know a little bit more about this Masked woman.*

Chie: Perfect timing! Sorry, move over!

"All of a sudden, Chie forced herself under my umbrella..."

James: "Chie, you have your own..." You used your umbrella for kung fu practice. Didn't you?

Chie: Huh?! How do you know?!

James: Because I know you would do something like that. And you just told me. "But besides that, did you see..." "You know..."

Chie: I did. I'm guessing Narukami saw it too.

James: He did.

Chie: "...Nevermind." I'll save it for when the others are around. "We're gonna be late for school."

And so we started walking to school.

Chie: "Oh..." "U-Uhh..." "I-It's "kinda" awkward to only bring this up now, but..." "We're pretty close here..." "U-Um, I'm gonna just go ahead and run the rest of the way!"

James: "Then let's make it a race if you want to avoid the rain."

Chie: Huh!? We're BOTH "gonna" run through the rain!? "What's the point in that?" "Besides, it's not like I wanted to make a break for it..."

James: *That's a lie.*

Chie: "......" Haha, am I worrying too much? Eh, I'll keep going with you anyway. Alright, let's go.

And so I walked with Chie "all the way" to school.

"Morning..."

James: *"Thank god that there are some normal teachers in this school."*

Ms. Sofue: Hello, everyone. My name is Kimiko Sofue, and I don't know how much you know about world history, but I'm an expert. First, a little about me. I love to use my dowser to look for lost items, and there's nothing quite like a romance. "In fact," world history is a magnificent romance. History is like a river; it was born in the past and "flows" ever forward. I hope we can all enjoy the profundity of history together. Hohoho. And since this is my first lecture, I'll start with an easy question. Mr. Hanamura, please stand up.

James: *Wait, what?!*

Yosuke: "!"

Yosuke then stands up.

Ms. Sofue: The western calendar is "based' on Anno Domini, the traditionally believed year of Jesus Christ's birth. What is the year before 1 AD called?

Yosuke: "Um..."

James: *He doesn't know the answer. I have to give it to him, but quietly.* *Whispering* 1 BC.

Yosuke: Huh? Oh, It's 1 BC.

Ms. Sofue: Ah, you seem to understand this well. If you think that "history" is like math, 0 AD would be the natural assumption, but world history is "much more complicated." "The Gregorian calendar we use today is "based" on the Julian calendar, which was "made' while there was no concept of the zero as a number." That's why, when counting backward, we go from 1 AD straight to 1 BC. "Hopefully, that was a nice introduction to world history..."
