Thirty Six

"Indecent proposal?"

Taehyung felt shivers run down his spine upon hearing those words from Namjoon who was sitting across him in the conference room.

They were finally back in Korea after their three-day trip in New York.

"Yes.. It wasn't confirmed, but there are rumors going on that Francis Jacobs is a sexual offender who would use his fame to lure models and force them to accept an indecent proposal."

"What the fuck?" Jimin blurted in aghast.

"I can't believe I almost idolize him." Jin said, trailing his eyes full of concern on Taehyung.

"I should've done a thorough background check before accepting his invitation. I'm sorry." Namjoon uttered, looking so regretful.

"Don't be sorry, hyung. At least we knew about it before signing any agreement with him." Taehyung assured.

"That's why he's like a creep when he's talking to Taehyung. What the fuck?" Jimin bellowed.

Taehyung felt disgusted, remembering the way that creep touched him. He had felt really uncomfortable, guess his intuition had always been right.

"If not for Mr. Jeon, I wouldn't have known. I feel like a failure as your manager." Namjoon said, sighing.

His words had the three looking curiously at him.

"Mr. Jeon?" Jimin asked, one eyebrow raised up the roof.

Namjoon was taken aback, looking as if he had said something he should not have.

"Uh.." He carefully gazed at Taehyung whose eyes were fixated on him.

"I actually got a call from Hoseok, telling me not to sign any contract with Francis nor accept any offer. Turns out, it was Jungkook who informed him about the whole scandal involving that creep."

Taehyung could only stare at Namjoon as he explained everything. All the while, he was once again reminded of how Jungkook would always have his way of saving him.

Just like how he always did before.

"I— excuse me." Taehyung abruptly stood as he headed to the restroom.

He had to hide or everyone would have seen the tears falling from his eyes.

Maybe because he lacked sleep for the past few days that's why he's getting emotional over something so little.

And yet, no matter how hard he tried to stop himself from crying, just the thought of Jungkook and the memories of him instantly filled him with regrets.

What if he didn't leave?

What if he had stayed with him?

Would the outcome be the same?

"Is it really too late for us now?" Taehyung mumbled, watching his tears fall as he could only stare at his miserable reflection in the mirror.

The grand hall where the launch party of J&J Scent's new line was filled with business tycoons and famous personalities.

Taehyung was present as the new ambassador while Namjoon and Hoseok accompanied him.

A lot of reporters were also around to witness the event which would be published in news papers the next day.

"Will it be okay to leave you for a while? I need to discuss a few things with them." Namjoon said, pertaining to the group of CEOs on the other table.

"Sure. Don't worry about me." Taehyung assured.
