"What did you do this time?"
Instead of answering, Jungkook threw a glare on the uninvited guest in his living room.
"Who gave you permission to enter my house?" He asked, clearly showing his distaste.
"Your house?" She scoffed, amused by his words.
Jungkook's jaw tightened upon seeing her taunting face.
"The last time I checked, nothing belongs to you, son."
It took him a lot of patience not to use violence to make this woman shut her mouth.
He had endured her presence for the past years. He would not fuck everything up just because of this.
"I don't have time for you." He said, making his way to his room.
"I heard you're the reason why Yeri was rushed in the hospital." She continued, earning a frustrated sigh from Jungkook.
If only he did not want anyone else touching his things and entering his house, he should've just asked his assistant to prepare everything he needed and avoided clashing with this woman.
"You sure are fast." He commented, grabbing a change of clothes from his cabinet.
"You should've known by now. You can't keep anything from me."
Her voice was proud and insulting, something Jungkook had been used to hearing.
"What's his name again?" She asked, making Jungkook stop what he's doing to turn his gaze on her direction.
"Oh yes, Taehyung. That's him, right?"
If only looks could kill, she would have been dead by now.
"I can't believe he's being a problem again, then and now." She continued, not planning to stop despite of the deadly glare Jungkook was giving her.
"Get your acts together, or I'll be forced to make you." She warned, stepping closer to where he stood.
She eyed him with those insulting eyes as she leaned to his ear and whispered.
"Don't forget why I'm still letting you be part of this family."
Jungkook's jaw tightened, fighting the urge to throw a punch. He looked down on his trembling fist as he tried to control his anger.
Of course. How could he forget his role when she's making it clear every time she had the chance.
He's nothing but a puppet dressed as a Jeon.
But not for long.
Not for long.

Every step Taehyung made seemed to get heavier the closer he was to the room where Yeri was confined.
Finally stopping in front of the closed door, his palms turned cold.
Behind that door was the woman he had hated so much, not until he learned the truth from Jungkook.
As he reached his trembling hand to grab the door, he thought he had prepared himself to face her, but the sight that welcomed him made his heart clench.
"What are you doing here?" Yeri asked, clearly on guard.
Taehyung slowly closed the door behind as he made his way to her.
"If you think coming here and asking for forgiveness would suffice, then you're wrong." She uttered, anger evident on her voice.
Instead of saying anything, Taehyung sat on the chair next to her hospital bed. The action only made her angrier as she aimed to press the button which calls for an attendant.
However, even before her finger could touch the button, she heard Taehyung's voice.
"Thank you..."
Her surprised gaze landed on him and when she did, she was welcomed by the sight of his tears.
"Thank you for saving Jungkook."
His words had her looking away, acting unaffected.
"I don't know what you're saying. Just leave." She firmly said, looking outside the window.
"Jungkook told me everything."
"I'm not surprised. You wouldn't be here thanking me if he didn't."
There was a long silence that filled the room, both of them weighing the situation.
"If you don't have anything else to say—"
"I'm sorry." Taehyung whispered, looking down on his clasped hands.
He could feel his throat turning dry as he stared at her in the eyes.
"Don't be. I don't need your pity." She retorted, throwing a hateful gaze on him.
"I'm not the one you should be sorry for. More than anyone else, you should be sorry for Jungkook." She continued, and for the very first time, Taehyung finally understood her anger towards him.
After all, she was there when Taehyung was not.
She was there... when it should've been him.
She was there, and she stayed.
"I know... I know saying sorry won't be enough, but still I'm sorry... and thank you."
He meant every word.
He's more than grateful to her for being with Jungkook during the time he needed someone the most.
Though it's painful to accept, Taehyung learned that he had to.
He could see the change of expression in her face before a sigh left her pale lips.
"Okay, I'm sorry. I shouldn't blame everything on you. In fact, Jungkook never blamed you, so who am I to do so." Yeri uttered, letting her back rest against the headboard.
"I know your intentions were good, but I did not want to acknowledge it."
She kept her eyes on Taehyung, not breaking eye contact.
"I hated your guts. I hated how you could leave and return in his life as you please. I hated how you took advantage of the fact that he loves you still." She said as she gazed at Taehyung.
"And that's what I hated the most. He loves you despite everything."
As she said those words, tears cascaded down her eyes filled with sadness. She looked so fragile, like a porcelain on the verge of breaking.
"But please... please don't take him away."
Taehyung heard her desperation, something he finally understood now.
He reached for her trembling hands and held it with his own.
"He has waited for you for the past five years... please, can you do the same this time?" She begged, tears mirroring Taehyung's own.
"Even for a short while, as my life allows, please... please can I have him by my side?"
Taehyung felt his heart clench as he continued to hold her hand. Gone were the hatred nor despise.
What remained was understanding and gratitude for this woman who would willingly let herself be used because of her love for Jungkook.
Though in tears, as he stared at Yeri's face, he realized she's become even more beautiful in his eyes.
He used to think her long black hair was gorgeous, but looking now, she's even more beautiful without it.
"Don't worry, Yeri. Jungkook will keep his promise. Above anything else, he will keep it."
