Holiday break was finally approaching which meant lesser time to goof around due to series of examinations and paperwork, more deadlines to beat, and most of all, long sleepless nights to endure before finally getting a well-deserved break.
"I'm beat." Taehyung complained as he rested his head on the table. Since the beginning of the exams, his head had been aching like hell which only worsen his mood.
The cold and almost freezing temperature brought by the winter season didn't really help him at all.
"Eat up. You need energy for another exam after this." Jimin pushed the tray of food toward the blonde who just groaned in frustration.
The cafeteria was packed with a lot of students who seemed to be having the same struggles as him.
"I can't remember even a single question from the exam." Taehyung couldn't help but to curse himself.
He just knew he fucked up the exams big time. He couldn't even remember how he was able to finish answering the questions earlier.
"I'm doomed." He groaned once more, feeling too helpless.
"Oh come on. You're being dramatic. I know you'll nail those exams like usual." Jimin uttered, reassuringly squeezing his cheeks.
Taehyung sighed as he convinced himself that Jimin could be right even though deep down he knew he wasn't able to perform quite well during the exams.
Even his paperwork and projects weren't that formidable to get the grades he needed to maintain his scholarship.
"Eat up and don't stress yourself too much. You wouldn't want Jungkook to see you looking so haggard, right?" Jimin teased in an attempt to motivate him.
However, Taehyung felt even more down at the mention of the ravenette's name.
The sole reason why he's been so distracted lately.
As days went by, Taehyung rarely got the time to be with Jungkook. He thought it's because both of them were preoccupied with the exams and all, but something just felt off for Taehyung.
Especially when he'll ask Jungkook out during weekends and the ravenette would decline because of some things he needed to do.
Taehyung had wanted to ask him about what's keeping him so busy, but whenever he tried to do so, words just won't come out of his mouth.
He would still pick him up after class though. However, it's just going straight home.
No more dates nor hanging out together like before.
"What's with the long face?" Jimin asked, noticing his silence.
Taehyung didn't respond as he picked up the spoon and toyed with his food.
"Hey, baby. What's wrong?" Jimin asked in a concerned tone.
A long silence befell between them as Taehyung finally heaved a deep sigh of relief.
"I think Jungkook's getting cold with me." Taehyung whispered, looking anywhere but Jimin.
"Why did you say so?" Jimin asked, moving his seat closer to Taehyung.
The blonde shrugged his shoulders as he finally shared his burden to his best friend.
"I don't know. Maybe I'm just overthinking or just plainly being paranoid but... it seems like he doesn't have that much time for me anymore." He confessed.
"Well maybe because of the exams or something?" Jimin said.
"Yeah.. Maybe?" Taehyung answered in uncertainty.
