I took a deep sigh, "I'm sorry." I make a run for it, running ahead of me, running as fast as I can, trying to get them. "Almost there!" I stretch every limb inside my body, trying to catch up with them.

"You can do it Roman! Run faster!" I feel my muscles being pulled, and stretched. "Ah!" I scream the pain I feel in my heart, wanting to realise it all, "I'm going to find-!" Before I could finish, my feet immediately stopped.

The air going through my lungs gets caught in my throat as I witness the sight before me, "What the fuck?" A big dug out...hole? I think it was, sat infront of me. What the hell is this? I walk around the hole, examing anything that may seem...off?

This doesn't look like any hole.

A grave pit.

"Roman..."

I turn around quickly, aiming my gun in the darkness, "I'm here! I'm waiting!" They laughed, their laughter echoing through the empty woods, "I'm right here! Come on!" I heard soft rustling behind me.

I turn around, watching someone emerge from the greenery, "Finally." I tighten the metal handle in my hand, feeling my palms starting to sweat, "You couldn't hide forever," I smirked.

This person. Something is off about them.

I watch them walk around the pit, eyeing me carefully, "I hope you know this won't end well." I tap the gun to my forehead, "Give it up. Just tell me who you work with...or for." They continued to circle their way around. Not stopping.

"We just gonna dance and not talk?" I sucked in my teeth, "That's a shame." Their dark clothes hid their body from me, Their face was covered by a black ski mask, and only their eyes were visible.

Their eyes were vibrant, a light shade of blue. I watch as they reach behind them, pulling out a gun as well, "Ah...a face-off." I chuckled darkly, "Alright then. I noticed us both standing on opposites ends of the grave.

"Come on, give it your best shot." The gun shook in their hand, trying to keep it still. What is happening? Who is this? I continued to keep my gun raised, in case anything would happen.

Why aren't they taking the shot? Why are they just standing there? Waiting? I'm standing here, giving them the opportunity to-

"What seems to be the holdup?" No. No. This can't be. "Go on." I watch him stand behind the mysterious person, gently placing his hand on top of theirs, "Just like I taught you. Take a deep breath..." He inhaled with them, "Aim..." He moved the gun, "And, shoot." I ducked.

No bullet went off.

He huffed out, "It's alright, the first time is a bit scary." he took the gun from them, "If I was you. I would leave." I watched this...person, look at him, hard. Challenging his words, his stare, "Go." He said through gritted teeth.

They glanced at me once more before disappearing through the woods. "How have you been Roman?" He swung the gun around his index finger, continuing to look at me, "It's been a while since we ran into each other." He said.

"Certainly has been a minute." He chuckled, "What did you do to my friends?" He arched a brow, "Friends? What friends?" His laugh was sinful, full of dusk. "Don't worry. They aren't dead. I just needed them out of the way for this one." I let out a small breath, knowing they are okay put's my mind at rest.

"Who was your little friend?" I started to move around the rectangular pit, "Oh the rookie?" He pointed behind him, "Just a new intern, trying to familiarise them with this lifestyle again." he drummed his fingers against the metal.
